My steps toward Allah

I bear winteness that noone is worth of worshiping except Allah, and I bear wintess that Mohammed sallahu alayha wa saalam is His Last Messanger,and my Allahs peace and blessings be upon his Ashabahs r.a., his noble family, and all those who folow thier steps.

Forgive me Ya Rabby...I made my heart away from You for the moment,. Forgive me Ya Rabby, Your Servent is sinfull, fullfill my heart with honest Love towerd You, and everything that leads to You, as I feel my soul with repetance to You, my eyes with tears,and my heart with shame of You. Forgive me my Lord, do not get angry on me, You are The Most Mercyfull, do not let that I ever forget You even on one moment, that I fear only of You, and that I look only that You be pleased with me.

Make my steps firm and strong on Your way... Make my worry only one, make my wish only one.... that You be pleased with me... Oh Allah, You are The Most Mercyfull, please be mercyfull towerd Your Servent, keep my heart close to You always.

Do not be sad!!! Do not cry!!! Do not worry!!! I know that maybe now my words do not mean nothing to you, and I say be patiente, forget about it.Now when I look at you, I see, I see much deep... No, I do not see but I feel. Sadness is coming from your eyes, and I wonder what has happend to my sister, when did she lost her hope. I wonder which hardships have made my sister to feel like this, and which tests from Allah....

You say, it is nothing, and that it will pass soon... You eman and pride to be Servent of Allah, does not let you to say what is making you so much worry, that is not letting you to say the words of sadness trough your sweet voice always. No, you feel afraid to say even one word, which will fly like flight of butterflys, because in your world it means to disobey to Allah, The Creator of all Worlds.

SubhanAllah.... How many times you have helped me, when I felt sad and dissaopinted. I feel myselfe obligated to take your hand, so that we can go together in gardens of Allah, where we will rest our eyes. Come with me sister, leave all that worris which are making your heart so hard. You are stenght, you are strong!!!Allah is with you, you have something what others do not have, you have treasure in your heart. Do not give it and sell it to Shaytan.. No,never!!!!

And you just listen me, and make dhikr of your fingers of silk. Because dhikr is the most beautiful speach. But understand, my sweet sister, that what is in soul is reflecting in ones face and behaviour, and deeds. I know that you try to be Servent of Allah, but do not make such burden on yourselfe, because Allah do not put burden on anyone over his possibilties.

And you are just looking at me, I know I have red you now. It has happen to me many times, and after I would get back full of happiness, new hope and wish for life.

The Status of Women in Islaam

. INTRODUCTION

The status of women in society is neither a new issue nor is it a fully settled one.

The position of Islam on this issue has been among the subjects presented to the Western reader with the least objectivity.

This paper is intended to provide a brief and authentic exposition of what Islam stands for in this regard. The teachings of Islam are based essentially on the Quran (God's revelation) and Hadeeth (elaboration by Prophet Muhammad).

The Quran and the Hadeeth, properly and unbiasedly understood, provide the basic source of authentication for any position or view which is attributed to Islam.

The paper starts with a brief survey of the status of women in the pre-Islamic era. It then focuses on these major questions: What is the position of Islam regarding the status of woman in society? How similar or different is that position from "the spirit of the time," which was dominant when Islam was revealed? How would this compare with the "rights" which were finally gained by woman in recent decades?

II. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES

One major objective of this paper is to provide a fair evaluation of what Islam contributed (or failed to contribute) toward the restoration of woman's dignity and rights. In order to achieve this objective, it may be useful to review briefly how women were treated in general in previous civilizations and religions, especially those which preceded Islam (Pre-610 C.E.). Part of the information provided here, however, describes the status of woman as late as the nineteenth century, more than twelve centuries after Islam.

Women in Ancient Civilization

Describing the status of the Indian woman, Encyclopedia Britannica states:

In India, subjection was a cardinal principle. Day and night must women be held by their protectors in a state of dependence says Manu. The rule of inheritance was agnatic, that is descent traced through males to the exclusion of females.

In Hindu scriptures, the description of a good wife is as follows: "a woman whose mind, speech and body are kept in subjection, acquires high renown in this world, and, in the next, the same abode with her husband."

In Athens, women were not better off than either the Indian or the Roman women.

"Athenian women were always minors, subject to some male - to their father, to their brother, or to some of their male kin.

Her consent in marriage was not generally thought to be necessary and "she was obliged to submit to the wishes of her parents, and receive from them her husband and her lord, even though he were stranger to her."

A Roman wife was described by an historian as: "a babe, a minor, a ward, a person incapable of doing or acting anything according to her own individual taste, a person continually under the tutelage and guardianship of her husband."

In the Encyclopedia Britannica, we find a summary of the legal status of women in the Roman civilization:

In Roman Law a woman was even in historic times completely dependent. If married she and her property passed into the power of her husband . . . the wife was the purchased property of her husband, and like a slave acquired only for his benefit. A woman could not exercise any civil or public office . could not be a witness, surety, tutor, or curator; she could not adopt or be adopted, or make will or contract. Among the Scandinavian races women were:

under perpetual tutelage, whether married or unmarried. As late as the Code of Christian V, at the end of the 17th Century, it was enacted that if a woman married without the consent of her tutor he might have, if he wished, administration and usufruct of her goods during her life.

According to the English Common Law:

...all real property which a wife held at the time of a marriage became a possession of her husband. He was entitled to the rent from the land and to any profit which might be made from operating the estate during the joint life of the spouses. As time passed, the English courts devised means to forbid a husband's transferring real property without the consent of his wife, but he still retained the right to manage it and to receive the money which it produced. As to a wife's personal property, the husband's power was complete. He had the right to spend it as he saw fit.

Only by the late nineteenth Century did the situation start to improve. "By a series of acts starting with the Married women's Property Act in 1870, amended in 1882 and 1887, married women achieved the right to own property and to enter contracts on a par with spinsters, widows, and divorcees." As late as the Nineteenth Century an authority in ancient law, Sir Henry Maine, wrote: "No society which preserves any tincture of Christian institutions is likely to restore to married women the personal liberty conferred on them by the Middle Roman Law."

III. WOMAN IN ISLAM

In the midst of the darkness that engulfed the world, the divine revelation echoed in the wide desert of Arabia with a fresh, noble, and universal message to humanity: "O Mankind, keep your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate (of same kind) and from them twain has spread a multitude of men and women" (Quran 4: 1).

A scholar who pondered about this verse states: "It is believed that there is no text, old or new, that deals with the humanity of the woman from all aspects with such amazing brevity, eloquence, depth, and originality as this divine decree."

Stressing this noble and natural conception, the Quran states:

He (God) it is who did create you from a single soul and therefrom did create his mate, that he might dwell with her (in love)….(Quran 7:189)

The Creator of heavens and earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves ...Quran 42:1 1

And Allah has given you mates of your own nature, and has given you from your mates, children and grandchildren, and has made provision of good things for you. Is it then in vanity that they believe and in the grace of God that they disbelieve? Quran 16:72

The rest of this paper outlines the position of Islam regarding the status of woman in society from its various aspects - spiritually, socially, economically and politically.

1. The Spiritual Aspect

The Quran provides clear-cut evidence that woman in completely equated with man in the sight of God in terms of her rights and responsibilities. The Quran states:

"Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds" (Quran 74:38). It also states:

...So their Lord accepted their prayers, (saying): I will not suffer to be lost the work of any of you whether male or female. You proceed one from another ...(Quran 3: 195).

Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to him will We give a new life that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to the their actions. (Quran 16:97, see also 4:124).

Woman according to the Quran is not blamed for Adam's first mistake. Both were jointly wrong in their disobedience to God, both repented, and both were forgiven. (Quran 2:36, 7:20 - 24). In one verse in fact (20:121), Adam specifically, was blamed.

In terms of religious obligations, such as the Daily Prayers, Fasting, Poor-due, and Pilgrimage, woman is no different from man. In some cases indeed, woman has certain advantages over man. For example, the woman is exempted from the daily prayers and from fasting during her menstrual periods and forty days after childbirth. She is also exempted from fasting during her pregnancy and when she is nursing her baby if there is any threat to her health or her baby's. If the missed fasting is obligatory (during the month of Ramadan), she can make up for the missed days whenever she can. She does not have to make up for the prayers missed for any of the above reasons. Although women can and did go into the mosque during the days of the prophet and thereafter attendance et the Friday congregational prayers is optional for them while it is mandatory for men (on Friday).

This is clearly a tender touch of the Islamic teachings for they are considerate of the fact that a woman may be nursing her baby or caring for him, and thus may be unable to go out to the mosque at the time of the prayers. They also take into account the physiological and psychological changes associated with her natural female functions.

2. The Social Aspect

a) As a child and an adolescent

Despite the social acceptance of female infanticide among some Arabian tribes, the Quran forbade this custom, and considered it a crime like any other murder.

"And when the female (infant) buried alive - is questioned, for what crime she was killed." (Quran 81:8-9).

Criticizing the attitudes of such parents who reject their female children, the Quran states:

When news is brought to one of them, of (the Birth of) a female (child), his face darkens and he is filled with inward grief! With shame does he hide himself from his people because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain her on (sufferance) and contempt, or bury her in the dust? Ah! What an evil (choice) they decide on? (Quran 16: 58-59).

Far from saving the girl's life so that she may later suffer injustice and inequality, Islam requires kind and just treatment for her. Among the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (P.) in this regard are the following:

Whosoever has a daughter and he does not bury her alive, does not insult her, and does not favor his son over her, God will enter him into Paradise. (Ibn Hanbal, No. 1957).

Whosoever supports two daughters till they mature, he and I will come in the day of judgment as this (and he pointed with his two fingers held together).

A similar Hadeeth deals in like manner with one who supports two sisters. (Ibn-Hanbal, No. 2104).

The right of females to seek knowledge is not different from that of males. Prophet Muhammad (P.) said:

"Seeking knowledge is mandatory for every Muslim". (AlBayhaqi). Muslim as used here including both males and females.

b) As a wife:

The Quran clearly indicates that marriage is sharing between the two halves of the society, and that its objectives, beside perpetuating human life, are emotional well-being and spiritual harmony. Its bases are love and mercy.

Among the most impressive verses in the Quran about marriage is the following.

"And among His signs is this: That He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest, peace of mind in them, and He ordained between you love and mercy. Lo, herein indeed are signs for people who reflect." (Quran 30:2 1).

According to Islamic Law, women cannot be forced to marry anyone without their consent.

Ibn Abbas reported that a girl came to the Messenger of God, Muhammad (P.), and she reported that her father had forced her to marry without her consent. The Messenger of God gave her the choice . . . (between accepting the marriage or invalidating it). (Ibn Hanbal No. 2469). In another version, the girl said: "Actually I accept this marriage but I wanted to let women know that parents have no right (to force a husband on them)" (Ibn Maja, No. 1873).

Besides all other provisions for her protection at the time of marriage, it was specifically decreed that woman has the full right to her Mahr, a marriage gift, which is presented to her by her husband and is included in the nuptial contract, and that such ownership does not transfer to her father or husband. The concept of Mahr in Islam is neither an actual or symbolic price for the woman, as was the case in certain cultures, but rather it is a gift symbolizing love and affection.

The rules for married life in Islam are clear and in harmony with upright human nature. In consideration of the physiological and psychological make-up of man and woman, both have equal rights and claims on one another, except for one responsibility, that of leadership. This is a matter which is natural in any collective life and which is consistent with the nature of man.

The Quran thus states:

"And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them, and men are a degree above them." (Quran 2:228).

Such degree is Quiwama (maintenance and protection). This refers to that natural difference between the sexes which entitles the weaker sex to protection. It implies no superiority or advantage before the law. Yet, man's role of leadership in relation to his family does not mean the husband's dictatorship over his wife. Islam emphasizes the importance of taking counsel and mutual agreement in family decisions. The Quran gives us an example:

"...If they (husband wife) desire to wean the child by mutual consent and (after) consultation, there is no blame on them..." (Quran 2: 233).

Over and above her basic rights as a wife comes the right which is emphasized by the Quran and is strongly recommended by the Prophet (P); kind treatment and companionship.

The Quran states:

"...But consort with them in kindness, for if you hate them it may happen that you hate a thing wherein God has placed much good." (Quran 4: l9).

Prophet Muhammad. (P) said:

The best of you is the best to his family and I am the best among you to my family.

The most perfect believers are the best in conduct and best of you are those who are best to their wives. (Ibn-Hanbal, No. 7396)

Behold, many women came to Muhammad's wives complaining against their husbands (because they beat them) - - those (husbands) are not the best of you.

As the woman's right to decide about her marriage is recognized, so also her right to seek an end for an unsuccessful marriage is recognized. To provide for the stability of the family, however, and in order to protect it from hasty decisions under temporary emotional stress, certain steps and waiting periods should be observed by men and women seeking divorce. Considering the relatively more emotional nature of women, a good reason for asking for divorce should be brought before the judge. Like the man, however, the woman can divorce her husband with out resorting to the court, if the nuptial contract allows that.

More specifically, some aspects of Islamic Law concerning marriage and divorce are interesting and are worthy of separate treatment.

When the continuation of the marriage relationship is impossible for any reason, men are still taught to seek a gracious end for it.

The Quran states about such cases:

When you divorce women, and they reach their prescribed term, then retain them in kindness and retain them not for injury so that you transgress (the limits). (Quran 2:231). (See also Quran 2:229 and 33:49).

c) As a mother:

Islam considered kindness to parents next to the worship of God.

"And we have enjoined upon man (to be good) to his parents: His mother bears him in weakness upon weakness..." (Quran 31:14) (See also Quran 46:15, 29:8).

Moreover, the Quran has a special recommendation for the good treatment of mothers:

"Your Lord has decreed that you worship none save Him, and that you be kind to your parents. . ." (Quran 17:23).

A man came to Prophet Muhammad (P) asking:

O Messenger of God, who among the people is the most worthy of my good company? The Prophet (P) said, Your mother. The man said then who else: The Prophet (P) said, Your mother. The man asked, Then who else? Only then did the Prophet (P) say, Your father. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

A famous saying of The Prophet is "Paradise is at the feet of mothers." (In Al'Nisa'I, Ibn Majah, Ahmad).

"It is the generous (in character) who is good to women, and it is the wicked who insults them."

3. The Economic Aspect

Islam decreed a right of which woman was deprived both before Islam and after it (even as late as this century), the right of independent ownership. According to Islamic Law, woman's right to her money, real estate, or other properties is fully acknowledged. This right undergoes no change whether she is single or married. She retains her full rights to buy, sell, mortgage or lease any or all her properties. It is nowhere suggested in the Law that a woman is a minor simply because she is a female. It is also noteworthy that such right applies to her properties before marriage as well as to whatever she acquires thereafter.

With regard to the woman's right to seek employment it should be stated first that Islam regards her role in society as a mother and a wife as the most sacred and essential one. Neither maids nor baby-sitters can possibly take the mother's place as the educator of an upright, complex free, and carefully-reared children. Such a noble and vital role, which largely shapes the future of nations, cannot be regarded as "idleness".

However, there is no decree in Islam which forbids woman from seeking employment whenever there is a necessity for it, especially in positions which fit her nature and in which society needs her most. Examples of these professions are nursing, teaching (especially for children), and medicine. Moreover, there is no restriction on benefiting from woman's exceptional talent in any field. Even for the position of a judge, where there may be a tendency to doubt the woman's fitness for the post due to her more emotional nature, we find early Muslim scholars such as Abu-Hanifa and Al-Tabary holding there is nothing wrong with it. In addition, Islam restored to woman the right of inheritance, after she herself was an object of inheritance in some cultures. Her share is completely hers and no one can make any claim on it, including her father and her husband.

"Unto men (of the family) belongs a share of that which Parents and near kindred leave, and unto women a share of that which parents and near kindred leave, whether it be a little or much - a determinate share." (Quran 4:7).

Her share in most cases is one-half the man's share, with no implication that she is worth half a man! It would seem grossly inconsistent after the overwhelming evidence of woman's equitable treatment in Islam, which was discussed in the preceding pages, to make such an inference. This variation in inheritance rights is only consistent with the variations in financial responsibilities of man and woman according to the Islamic Law. Man in Islam is fully responsible for the maintenance of his wife, his children, and in some cases of his needy relatives, especially the females. This responsibility is neither waived nor reduced because of his wife's wealth or because of her access to any personal income gained from work, rent, profit, or any other legal means.

Woman, on the other hand, is far more secure financially and is far less burdened with any claims on her possessions. Her possessions before marriage do not transfer to her husband and she even keeps her maiden name. She has no obligation to spend on her family out of such properties or out of her income after marriage. She is entitled to the "Mahr" which she takes from her husband at the time of marriage. If she is divorced, she may get an alimony from her ex-husband.

An examination of the inheritance law within the overall framework of the Islamic Law reveals not only justice but also an abundance of compassion for woman.

4. The Political Aspect

Any fair investigation of the teachings of Islam o~ into the history of the Islamic civilization will surely find a clear evidence of woman's equality with man in what we call today "political rights".

This includes the right of election as well as the nomination to political offices. It also includes woman's right to participate in public affairs. Both in the Quran and in Islamic history we find examples of women who participated in serious discussions and argued even with the Prophet (P) himself, (see Quran 58: 14 and 60: 10-12).

During the Caliphate of Omar Ibn al-Khattab, a woman argued with him in the mosque, proved her point, and caused him to declare in the presence of people: "A woman is right and Omar is wrong."

According to Islam, the head of the state is no mere figurehead. He leads people in the prayers, especially on Fridays and festivities; he is continuously engaged in the process of decision-making pertaining to the security and well-being of his people. This demanding position, or any similar one, such as the Commander of the Army, is generally inconsistent with the physiological and psychological make-up of woman in general. It is a medical fact that during their monthly periods and during their pregnancies, women undergo various physiological and psychological changes. Such changes may occur during an emergency situation, thus affecting her decision, without considering the excessive strain which is produced. Moreover, some decisions require a maximum of rationality and a minimum of emotionality - a requirement which does not coincide with the instinctive nature of women.

Even in modern times, and in the most developed countries, it is rare to find a woman in the position of a head of state acting as more than a figurehead, a woman commander of the armed services, or even a proportionate number of women representatives in parliaments, or similar bodies. One can not possibly ascribe this to backwardness of various nations or to any constitutional limitation on woman's right to be in such a position as a head of state or as a member of the parliament. It is more logical to explain the present situation in terms of the natural and indisputable differences between man and woman, a difference which does not imply any "supremacy" of one over the other. The difference implies rather the "complementary" roles of both the sexes in life.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Whoever works righteousness — whether male or female — while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter)”

[al-Nahl 16:97]

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Hasten to do good deeds before there come tribulations like pieces of a dark night, when a man will be a believer in the morning and a kaafir by evening, or he will be a believer in the evening and a kaafir by morning, selling his religious commitment for worldly gain.”

Narrated by Muslim, 118.

We as Muslims should always seek the help of Allah to do good deeds, and do we should try our best to do as many as we can. We should persist in doing these good deeds even if they are little, for that is better than doing a lot of good deeds then stopping.

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O people, you should do whatever good deeds you can, for Allaah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired. And the most beloved of good deeds to Allaah is that in which a person persists, even if it is little. If the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) started to do something, they would persist in it.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 43; Muslim, 782.

Remembrance of Allah is the foundation of good deeds. Whoever succeeds in it is blessed with the close friendship of Allah. That is why the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to make remembrance of Allah at all times. When a man complained, "The laws of Islam are too heavy for me, so tell me something that I can easily follow," the Prophet told him, "Let your tongue be always busy with the remembrance of Allah." [Narrated by Ahmad with two sound chains, also Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah through other chains, and Ibn Hibban who declared it sahih].

The Prophet, peace be upon him, would often tell his Companions, "Shall I tell you about the best of deeds, the most pure in the sight of your Lord, about the one that is of the highest order and is far better for you than spending gold and silver, even better for you than meeting your enemies in the battlefield where you strike at their necks and they at yours?" The Companions replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet, peace be upon him,said,"Remembrance of Allah." (Narrated by Tirmidhi, Ahmad, hadith hasan)

"Remember Allah abundantly, in order that you become successful"

Quran (Surah 8: Verse 45)

"Only in the remembrance of Allah (swt) will your heart find peace"

Quran (Surah 13: Verse 28)

"Those men and women who engage much in Allah's praise. for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a Great Reward"

Quran (Surah 33: Verse 35)

Allah (SWT) has commanded us to remember him always. He says:

"Remember me, I shall remember you." (Qur'an 2:152)

"They are the most wise who remember Allah, standing sitting and lying down"

Quran (Surah 4: Verse 190)

"Satan has mastered them and caused them to forget the Remembrance of Allah. Those are satan's party; and satan's party shall assuredly be the losers"

Quran (Surah 58: Verse 19)

"Whosoever turns away from My remembrance, his life will be made tight and narrow on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him blind"

Quran (Surah 20: Verse 124)

You shall glorify Him day and night. [Azhab: 33:42]

Thus it is very important for us as Muslims to zikrullah, or remembrance, of Allah (SWT).

The word zikr has many meanings. It means: Allah's Book and its recitation, Prayer, Learning and teaching, Du'aa, Remembrance of Allah in the heart, or in both the heart and the tongue, and even pondering over Allah's creation.

The Prophet (PBUH) once said, "When any group of men remember Allah, angels surround them and mercy covers them, tranquillity descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those who are with Him." (Sahih Aljami',#5608).

When people do zikr, their hearts turn to the highest ideals and are free from the temptations of sin. Obviously this is true only if the words come from the heart and not just from the tongue.

Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The similitude of one who remembers his Rubb and one who does not remember Him, is like that of the living and the dead.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"... And the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues. Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e., Jannah).'' (33:35)

“Almighty Allah says:

“And We shall strip away all rancor from their hearts - beneath them will be rivers flowing - and they shall say: ‘Praise be to Allah, Who guided us on to this. Had it not been for Allah Who granted us guidance, we would not have found guidance. Surely, the Messengers of our Lord did come with Truth.’ Then a voice will cry to them, ‘Behold! This is the Paradise which you are made to inherit as a reward for your deeds.’” (Al-A`raf: 43)

In this verse there is a beautiful description of the people of Paradise. Before they enter their blessed abode, Allah will purify them from any lurking sense of rancor or grudge that they might have had against each other. Then He will grant them a most happy place to live. Then there is a wonderful dialogue that will take place. They will praise Allah’s grace. They will not boast of their virtues or good deeds that led them to Paradise. However, Allah on the other hand will appreciate their goodness and will say that whatever they are receiving is not some crumbs of charity from Him, but this is a due recompense because of their own good deeds. This is a kind of mutual appreciation and gratitude between the human and divine that is the hallmark of this verse.

Islam teaches that believers should do good deeds, but they should never say that we are purchasing Jannah by our good deeds. Jannah or eternal salvation is only because of Allah’s grace and love. However, Allah also does not say in the Qur’an, “You do not deserve Jannah,” but [rather], “I shall still give it to you because I love you.” Allah always says to the believers, “I shall give you the eternal bliss because I am willing to forgive your sins if your turn to Me; I appreciate your good deeds and I honor your good efforts.”

The recompense of a good deed is a good deed after it and the recompense of a bad deed is a bad deed after it.

Almighty Allah says:

"So hasten towards all that is good". (2:148)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Hasten to do good deeds before you are overtaken by one of the seven afflictions.'' Then (giving a warning) he said, "Are you waiting for such poverty which will make you unmindful of devotion; or prosperity which will make you corrupt, or disease as will disable you, or such senility as will make you mentally unstable, or sudden death, or Ad-Dajjal who is the worst expected absent, or the Hour, and the Hour will be most grievous and most bitter". [At-Tirmidhi].

The purpose of this Hadith is that before overcoming of the obstructions, one should do one's best to improve his Hereafter by means of good deeds lest one is deprived of good deeds by some obstruction.

We should be trying to gain as many good deeds as we can before we are overcome by death. Death can be at ANY second so there is not a second to waste.

We will regret EVERY second we wasted without doing a good deed and remembering Allah!
We have just completed a full month of intensive worship and devotion. We fasted, prayed, read the Qur’an, gave zakah and sadaqah, and did many good deeds. This should not make us boast that we are virtuous people, but we should be thankful that Allah guided us to all this. It was due to His mercy and guidance that we were able to do all these good deeds and if He accepts these things from us, then it will be also due to His grace and love that we shall find His blessings in this life and in the life to come.

True and sincere worship (`ibadah) creates humbleness and it always leads to more acts of goodness and virtues. If our Ramadan was a successful month of learning, then the effects of these good deeds will be with us and will remain for a long time

What Drives People to Convert to Islam

The nature of religious faith is quite mysterious. As part of their religious faiths, people believe in a variety of deities. There are people who have religious faith in the unseen supreme transcendental power and then there are others who believe in some humans as Gods, animals (e.g. monkeys), fire, idols made of stone, and the list goes on.
A lot is associated with having a religious “faith”. Part of it has to do with beliefs passed on through generations. People’s identities therefore get tied to it. Many times, these beliefs and associated feelings are not completely demonstrable by reason or any rational arguments. There is nothing right or wrong with this but that’s just how the nature of religious faith has come to be.
Everyone thinks they are right in their faith and beliefs. Being with people and groups with similar faiths further strengthens people’s faiths and they see it as “right” even though logical reasoning and argument sometimes can’t explain it all. That’s human psychology.
Islam’s arguments based on intellectual reasoning

Muslims believe however, that the Islamic religion is different in this context. One may argue that similar to other faiths there are aspects of it which are not completely demonstrable by reason but on the other hand, the Quranic text, which is Allah’s words addressing the humanity at large, uses intellectual reason, critical thinking, and the process of reflection as a means to not only reinforce the faith of the believers but also to call non-believers to ponder about the authenticity of Islam as the way of life for the humanity at large. Although no religious beliefs can be fully based on logic and reasoning, Islam and Quran provide more than enough examples and an opportunity to examine the truth and the soundness of its message through the lens of empirical evidence and knowledge.

No one (Muslim or otherwise) would argue that critical thinking and reflection can be a major catalyst for changing of ones life. Critical thinking has been used by many to improve their lives simply because a critical thinker asks probing questions about a situation, collects as much information as possible, reflects on the ideas collected and generated in context of the information available, keeps an open and unbiased mind and carefully scrutinizes assumptions and seeks alternatives.

This is the reason therefore that new Muslim converts would attribute the use of intelligent reasoning, reflection and critical thinking when explaining their journey to Islam. Such people cut through the hysteria created by some in the media to view Islam from a critical lens and following the truth thus comes naturally to them as part of this process. How else can one explain the increase in conversions with the increase of anti-Islam rhetoric? How else can one explain that more non-Muslim preachers have been converting to Islam than ever before? Although as Muslims we believe that the guidance (hidaya) comes only from Allah, the use of a person’s God-gifted intellectual reasoning has a very powerful role to play in Muslim converts making that destiny changing decision. And once converted, they rarely go back to their old faiths simply because a faith whose foundations are built on logic and reason is much less likely to be shaken down than one which builds simply upon a set of rites and sacraments.

Reasons attributed by new Converts

Some of the reasons attributed by people who convert to Islam are listed below. We can see that most of these reasons can only be attributed to the process of critical thinking and intellectual reflection.

The uniqueness and beauty of Quran’s text has been marveled by the best of Arab linguists and scholars from the days it was revealed until today. The more knowledgeable people are in the language, the more they appreciate the wonders of the textual fluency of the Quran.

Overwhelming scientific evidence and proofs – The Quran, revealed more than 1400 years ago has numerous scientific facts that are being validated by science only in this era.
Divine wisdom behind various social issues – The Quran provides a solution to numerous social issues, a deviation from which has known to cause societal chaos at all levels.
Arguments rooted in intellectual reasoning – Quran is the only known religious text that challenges mankind to think, reflect and ponder over the creation at large, social issues, God’s existence, and more. Quran in many instances challenges people to reflect and think on their own rather than heeding to the lose talk of those whose criticism is based on baseless foundations.

A confident assertion of a supreme being – Quran is the only known religious book that has a confident assertion of a supreme being on all issues ranging from the creation of the universe to social issues.

Divine Text – Quran’s language and prose is very different from the language in the hadith (Porphet’s sayings) thus proving that Quran is not the “imagination” or words of Prophet Muhammad, as many doubters have alleged in the past and do so even today.
Quran’s challenge to people on thinking and reflection
The Quran on numerous occasions challenges humanity at large to think, reflect and ponder over their affairs. Here is some of what the Quran states:

Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, laws, etc.) in detail for the people who reflect. (Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #24)
Do they not think deeply (in their ownselves) about themselves (how Allah created them from nothing, and similarly He will resurrect them)? Allah has created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, except with truth and for an appointed term. And indeed many of mankind deny the Meeting with their Lord. (Ar-Room, Chapter #30, Verse #8)
He it is Who has appointed for you the night that you may rest therein, and the day to make things visible (to you). Verily, in this are Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for a people who listen (i.e. those who think deeply). (Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #67)

Does man think that he will be left Suda (neglected without being punished or rewarded for the obligatory duties enjoined by his Lord (Allah) on him)? (Al-Qiyama, Chapter 75, Verse 36)
Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” (Al-Mumenoon, Chapter 23, Verse 115)
To the rejecters of truth the Quran states: Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; nay, they are even farther astray from the Path. (i.e. even worst than cattle). (Al-Furqan, Chapter 25, Verse,44)
Do they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion (Muhammad). He is but a plain warner. (Al-Araf, Chapter 7, Verse 184)
Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect . (Al-Hashr, Chapter 59, Verse 21)

When studying the many cases of new Muslim converts, we see that engaging in critical thinking and intellectual reasoning have led people to change their non-Islamic faiths – the same faiths that earlier supposedly could have moved mountains, get diluted by the voices of reason easily heard in the roots of Islam. A mere process of thinking and reflection brings so much to the limelight that otherwise remains veiled by distractions and forces of the anti-Islam pundits. Those who are bent to see only the negative, fail to see the light of truth and instead engage in a never ending superficial analysis to unsuccessfully prove their misguided philosophies.
There are many statistics in the media that highlight the phenomenal rate at which people are converting to Islam. Although, the authenticity of all these sources has not been validated for the purpose of this post, some of them include the following:
According to “The Almanac Book of Facts”, the population increased 137% within the past decade, Christianity increased 46%, while Islam increased 235%.
100,000 people per year in America alone, are converting to Islam. For every 1 male convert to Islam, 4 females convert to Islam
TV Report: 4000 Germans Convert To ISLAM Each Year
About 25000 people convert to Islam every year in the UK alone
…many more examples exist.

What about Muslims?

If voices of reason embedded in the teachings of Islam are causing non-Muslims to revert to Islam in droves, why is it that so many Muslims usually born into the religion fail to fully follow and thus enjoy the teachings of the religion? The fact is that it is this lack of critical thinking and reflection even on some Muslims part that is forcing Muslims to have a substandard way of life. Islam and its teachings hold the promise of a fulfilling and peaceful life for all. Yet, Muslims continue to ignore the basics and get mired in social and moral issues causing unnecessary pain and suffering on themselves and their families. The fact is that only if they could think and reflect on the teachings of their own religion, they can escape the many problems and challenges that face them.

The message of Islam

To non-Muslims who have only scratched the surface about learning Islam and who may be getting distracted by those who are the wrong torch bearers of this religion and also distracted by the biased voices in the media, the message is simple – try to view the teachings of Islam with a critical lens and you may be able to see more reason than you may not have thought was present. To Muslims, the message is that sometimes we do not appreciate the teachings of our own religion simply because we never think and grow beyond the few religious practices in operating our lives. A focused effort to learn, think and reflect more will help us get closer to the religious teachings in ways that can drastically improve our lives.

Why Muslims pray 5 times a day???!!!

Who ever Allah guides on the right way, noone can not lead him on the wrong way,and who ever Allah misguide, noone can lead him on the right way.And may Allahs peace and blessings be upon His Last Messanger, Muhammed sallahu layhe wa salam.

Question: Why do we pray five times each day? read in the Qur’aan that a man should pray three times: before sunrise, after sunset and in the middle of the day. So why do we pray five times? I hope that you will not give me the story that 50,000 prayers were enjoined then it was reduced to five. I want a convincing answer.

Praise be to Allaah. 1 – What is mentioned in the question about the number of prayers is mistaken. It was 50 then it was altered to 5 prayers, a favour from the Lord of the Worlds to the Muslims. 2 – The rules of sharee’ah may be divided into two categories: those which may be understood on a rational basis; and those which are purely worship, the wisdom behind which is concealed from us and is not mentioned in either the Qur’aan or the Sunnah. Examples of the first include: the prohibition on alcohol and gambling. Allaah has told us the reason why they are forbidden, which is: “Shaytaan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allaah and from As‑Salaah (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?”[al-Maa'idah 5:91] And there are other similar rulings. Examples of the second kind include offering Zuhr prayer when the sun has passed its zenith, circumambulating the Ka’bah with it on one's left (i.e., anticlockwise), the nisaab of gold being a quarter of ten percent; Maghrib prayer being three rak’ahs, and many other such rulings. What is mentioned in the question falls into this second category, which is things for which we do not know the reason from the Qur’aan or Sunnah, so we have to submit to the command of Allaah. This applies to all such rulings. The Muslim has to accept the things for which Allaah has not explained the reason, and say as the believers say: “We hear and we obey.” He should not be like the Children of Israel who said: “We hear but we disobey.”

Accepting what Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “He [Allaah] cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned” [al-Anbiya’ 21:23] is better for the believer in his religious and worldly affairs, for he is a slave who has a Lord, and the slave has no right to ask his Lord why He enjoined something. Rather he has to submit to His command. If he tells us why, we should do it, and if He does not tell us why, we should still do it. 3 – In al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah al-Kuwaitiyyah (1/49-51) there is a useful discussion which we will quote here: With regard to understanding the reasons why things have been prescribed, we may divide the issues of fiqh into two categories: 1 – Rulings whose wisdom may be understood on a rational basis, either because the reason is stated in the texts, or because it is easy to work out.

Such rulings are the majority of those that Allaah has prescribed, such as enjoining prayer, zakaah, fasting and Hajj in general, and such as enjoining the mahr (dowry) in marriage, ‘iddah (waiting period) following divorce or widowhood, spending on one’s wife, children and relatives, divorce when married life becomes unbearable, and many other such issues of fiqh. 2 – Ruling which are enjoined on us as a kind of pure worship. These are rulings in which the connection between the ruling and the action is not clear, such as the number of prayers, the number of rak’ahs and most of the actions of Hajj. By the mercy of Allaah, such rulings are few in relation to the rulings the wisdom behind which may be rationally understood. These rulings are prescribed as a test to demonstrate whether a person is a true believer.

It should also be noted that sharee’ah – both general principles and minor details – does not prescribe anything that contradict common sense, but it may prescribe something the reason for which cannot be understood. There is a big difference between the two. If a person is rationally convinced that Allaah exists and that He is wise, and that He alone deserves to be acknowledged as Lord, and he is rationally convinced that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a true Prophet, then he affirms that Allaah is the Sovereign and the Lord, and that he is His slave. Then if he is commanded to do something or is forbidden to do something, and he then says, “I will not follow this ruling until I know the reason behind this command or prohibition,” then he has proven himself to be false in his claim to be a believer in Allaah and His Messenger. The human mind has a limit beyond which it cannot go. The one who rebels against the rulings of Allaah that have to do with rituals is like a sick person who goes to a trustworthy doctor who prescribes various kinds of medicine for him, some to be taken before eating, some to be taken during the meal and some to be taken afterwards, in various amounts, and he says to the doctor:

I will not take your medicine until you explain to me the reason why this one should be taken before eating and this one afterwards, and this one during the meal, and why are they are varying amounts, some small and some big? Does this patient really trust his doctor? The same may be said of a person who claims to believe in Allaah and His Messenger, then he rebels against the rulings the wisdom behind which he does not understand. The true believer, if he is commanded to something or forbidden to do something, says, “I hear and I obey,” especially when we have explained that there are no rulings that can be rejected on the basis of reason. Not knowing something does not indicate that it is not true. How many rulings are there, the reason for which has been concealed from us in the past, then we discovered that there is great wisdom behind them? The reason why pork is forbidden was unknown to many people, then we found out that it carries germs and disease and other bad things, and Allaah wanted to protect the Muslim society against them. The same may be said concerning the command to wash vessels that have been licked by a dog seven times, one of which should be with earth… and other rulings the wisdom behind which may be discovered one day even though it is hidden from us now.

Love is in the air.

Or at least that’s what advertisers want you to think this month. While it’s nice to express your love often, Valentine’s Day comes once a year to give you no choice. And for the owners of floral boutiques and chocolate shops, Eid comes in February. But even amidst such commercialized affections, one can hardly keep from thinking about those they love. And while we do so, we are inevitably faced with some ultimate questions. I was reminded of those questions when I reflected on something a friend of mine had told me.

She was describing how it felt to be with the person she loved. In her words, the whole world disappeared when they were together. The more I reflected on her statement, the more it affected me, and the more it made me wonder. We as humans are made to feel love and attachment towards others. This is part of our human nature.

But what I realized was, we can feel this way about another human being, but 5 times a day we enter into a meeting with our Lord and Creator. I wondered how often we ever felt the whole world disappear while in His presence.

Can we really claim that our love for Allah is greater than our love for anyone, and anything else? So often we think that Allah only tests us with hardships. But that's not true. Allah also tests with ease. He tests us with ni’am (blessings) and with the things we love. And it is often in these tests that so many of us fail. We fail because when Allah gives us these blessings, we unwittingly turn them into false idols of the heart. When Allah blesses us with money, we depend on the money, rather than Allah. We forget that the source of our provision is not, and never was the money—but rather the giver of that money.

Suddenly we’re willing to sell alcohol to avoid losing money in our business, or we need to take out loans with interest to feel secure. In so doing we are foolishly—and ironically—disobeying the Provider in order to protect the provision. Or, when Allah blesses us with someone that we love, we forget that Allah is the source of that blessing, and we begin to love that person as we should love Allah. That person becomes the center of our world—all our concerns, all our thoughts, plans, fears, hopes, revolve only around them. If they are not our spouse, we are even willing to fall into haram just to be with them. And if they were to leave us, our whole world would crumble. So now, we have shifted our worship from the Source of the blessing to the blessing itself. Allah says of such people: “Yet there are men who take (for worship) others besides Allah, as equal (with Allah): They love them as they should love Allah. But those of Faith are overflowing in their love for Allah.” (Quran 2:165) It is because of this tendency to lose sight once given blessings that Allah warns us in the Quran when he says: “Say: ‘If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your spouses, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and struggling in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.’” (9:24) It is important to note that all the things listed in this ayah are halal to love, and are actually blessings. In fact, some of those blessings are signs of Allah.

On the one hand Allah says: “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.” (Quran 30:21) But, on the other hand Allah warns: “O you who believe, your spouses and your children can be your enemies; beware.” (Quran 64:14) The warning in this ayah is critical. Our spouses and our children are listed here because these are among the things we love the most. And it is in those things which you love most that you find the greatest test. We love. And love we should. But our test is in how we love, and what we love most. Our test is in seeing through the storms of greeting cards and roses, movies and songs, and not losing perspective. Success means keeping our eyes focused on the love that is greatest, that is constant, that never breaks, or wanes, or wakes up one morning gone. And when could that lesson be more relevant? Because after all, love is in the air.

Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward him.His mother, in the house, was looking out the window and saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling to her son as loudly as she could.

Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his mother. It was too late.Just as he reached her, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms just as the Alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the mother, but the mother was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard her screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal, and on his arms,were deep scratches where his mother's fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved. The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn't let go.

"You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, or anything quite so dramatic, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret.

But some wounds, my friend, are because Allah has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you. Islam teaches us that Allah loves us. He wants to protect us and provide for us in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril and we forget that the enemy(Satan) is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins, and if we have the scars of His love on our arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not let us go.Please pass this on to those you love. Allah has blessed you, so that you can be a blessing to others. You just never know where a person is in his/her life and what they are going through. That is why it is so important that we make duaa for each other and hope for the best for each other. Insha Allah take a few seconds out of your busy schedules and forward this email to as many brothers and sisters that you love and care about.

I originally dedicated my speech at the Global Peace and Unity conference to Imam Anwar Al Awlaki, a prominent Muslim scholar highly regarded in English speaking Islamic circles, who was arrested in Yemen two months ago.But I must also thank brother Fahad Ansari from the Islamic Human Rights Commission, author of God Save The Deen, whose written work inspired me to write this speech. Much credit of content is due to him. Islamically, I am very young, having reverted in 2003 – and while I have much to learn I can identify with the frustrations shared by Muslims today. I know 9/11 had a huge impact on the world, but it wasn’t really the start of something … it was the continuation of a legacy of US imperialism and its fear of Islam.Just over ten years ago, fit, young Muslims across the globe flooded into Bosnia to help their brothers and sisters fight for their survival against the Serbs who were carrying out a genocide sanctioned by the silence of a watching world.

The jihad brought together Muslims from all nationalities, status and culture. All were united, even those who could not travel to fight helped in other ways such as fund-raising, public awareness events and demonstrations. The impact was to stop the genocide. Western intervention, when it happened, came only after it was obvious the Bosnian Muslims were heading for victory. The establishment of an Islamic state deep in the heart of Europe was simply too much to bear and so the West intervened. This is not my conclusion, but US President Bill Clinton admitted it in his autobiography.This fear of Islam has now evolved in the last 10 years to such an extent that the blood of our brothers and sisters is now flowing like rivers across Chechnya, Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and we saw recently what happened to Lebanon.I have walked through many of these killing fields and let me tell you the twisted, blown up limbs of our Muslim brothers and sisters look exactly like those pulled from the rubble of the Twin Towers.Yet the message of today is quite clear.

Muslim blood is a cheap commodity.Meanwhile tens of thousands of innocent Muslims continue to be tortured in far away lands like Guantanamo Bay, Bagram airbase in Afghanistan, Abu Ghraib, Diego Garcia and ghost prisons throughout the world. Meanwhile, in the dungeons of Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria Egypt … brothers are being tortured at the behest and request of the United States.And don't think the British Government is not involved ... British intelligence officers will soon be named and shamed for their roles.Even now nine British residents remain in Guantanamo Bay - the Americans don't want them, but neither does this Government. Despite the weasel words of the Foreign Office all it will take is a phone call to have the brothers released.And don't think it is just brothers being incarcerated and tortured - Moazzam Begg can still hear a sister's screams down the corridors of the torture cells in Afghanistan where he was held by the Americans. See him at the Cage Prisoners stand today and ask him what you can do to help. Because we can help. Hardly a single detainee has been released due to legal action, but through political pressure ... that is when governments get involved.You here today, can make a difference. Don't just sit here and get angry - get even.

Put pressure on your politicians and remind them you are their political masters.In Surah Al Asr – God promises that the whole of mankind, including Muslims is at loss. Except – those who BELIEVE, DO RIGHTEOUS DEEDS, and those who ENJOIN THE TRUTH, and PATIENCE. Only by fulfilling these four criteria, will we be able to meet Allah, however if we bury our heads in the sand, and pretend there is no oppression in the world, and that these brothers and sisters mean nothing to us, then maybe we will not get to meet Him.Even Ken McDonald, Britain’s chief prosecutor, is disgusted by this government's actions - he has launched a scathing attack on secret courts. These courts try terror suspects who are not allowed to see the evidence against them. It is an affront to justice. In an exclusive interview with Islam Channel News, he said: "We should be clear these principles are not negotiable.

Whatever the political pressures, whatever the climate, these are the essence of fairness: trials routinely opened and reported before independent and impartial tribunals. " We don't want secret courts, we don't want vetted judges, we don't want secret justice. Equality of arms; fairness between the Prosecution and the Defence is not negotiable; the right to call and cross-examine witnesses under equal conditions is not negotiable; the right to full disclosure of the State's case against you is not negotiable. "Defendants are entitled to know what the case against them is, and they're entitled to have material in the possession of the Crown which either undermines the Crown's case or assists the Defence’s case. A protected right of appeal is not negotiable. "And the presumption of innocence, the criminal standard of proof - beyond a reasonable doubt - with the burden of proof resting squarely on the Crown's shoulders, none of that is negotiable." And of course he is right - but Tony Blair says Muslims have got to stop having a victim mentality. Well when the Director of Public prosecutions starts whingeing, then may be we have a point.

Think about what sort of message that sends out to our young people?They read about the heroic exploits of Saladin Ayyoubi, Khalid bin Walid, Tariq bin Ziad and listen intently to stories of courage and bravery about our beloved Prophet Mohamed, peace be upon him.Do you know, five years ago I had never even heard of The Prophet, pbuh, but now I would give my last drop of blood to protect his name, his honour and his memory.

Even in death he showed how strong he was by uniting the Ummah in protest at those vile cartoons from Denmark.Our modern day heroes include those two sixties martyrs Malcolm X and Sayyid Qutb, both whose writings have helped define me as a Muslim. These are the sort of role models and influences our youth need to follow, but instead they receive confused and mixed messages.If Blair gets his way he will try and ban this book Milestones - he is told this is a book Usama bin Ladin has read ... well he's also read Sheikh Zubair that's Shakespeare to you and me. Should we ban 12th Night, Hamlet and other great classics?One minute our youth are told the fear no one but Allah (swt) while the next minute they are told to dilute their Islam and keep their heads down. Since the events of 9-11, there has been an unrelenting campaign launched to change Islam into something more palatable to Western society.

The vision is a secular and cultural Islam at peace with the world through her submission to her oppressors rather than to Allah; an Islam devoid of jihad, shari’ah and khilafah – the very things we are commanded by Allah to implement in order to establish Allah’s deen on this earth.And it is in evidence everywhere I look. Hijabs are being ripped off the heads of my sisters in Tunisia, France and Turkey. Sisters in Holland and Germany are also in the firing line.And in Britain, we have Jack Straw, the former British Foreign Secretary who questioned the veil – he might not like the nikab, but I wish he would put it on with a great big gag. I am not having a white, middle-aged man telling me or my sisters how to dress.

The nikab, like the veil, like the hijab has become a symbol of a rejection of those negative Western lifestyles like drug-taking, binge-drinking and promiscuity. It is a statement telling the West we don’t want to be like you.Muslims who choose to be more western than Westerners make me laugh – do they realize how silly they look to the rest of the world? They hide behind such descriptions as moderate – again what sort of message does that send to our young people? If we ask them to be moderate does that not suggest that there is something wrong with Islam that it needs to be toned down, diluted?What is a moderate and what is an extremist? I really don’t know. I am a simple Muslim. I follow no scholars or sects … I merely follow The Prophet (pbuh) and the Sunnah.Does that make me an extremist?

I don't think Tony Blair knows himself - I wrote to him three months ago and am still waiting for a reply.Being a Muslim is a bit like being pregnant. You are or you are not. Whoever heard of anyone being moderately pregnant?Islam has been under attack for 1400 years and we should have learned by now to put our trust in no one but Allah. Yet there are those who continue to kiss the hand which slaps them.I am afraid that we can no longer put our trust in to someone just because they might wear Islamic dress.

There are those Muslim leaders who claim to guide and protect us but not all of them have our interests at heart. Our young people are going to have to be very discerning since the events of 9/11, Bali, Madrid and the London Bombings, to name a few. There are individuals who for years rallied the masses to stand up for justice and support mujahideen groups around the world and now some have become embarrassingly silent while others condemn armed jihad, portraying mujahideen as terrorists and extremists who follow a distorted version of Islam. In some ways we are all to blame. Our greatest shame has been our silence while martyrdom operations in Palestine and other occupied lands have been condemned as acts of terror as witnessed in 9/11 and the July 7 bombings.Our young people have to be taught that what is happening in Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya, Iraq and Afghanistan is legitimate resistance against a brutal military occupation, while crimes like 9/11 and the London bombings are blatant terrorism. Equating the two only betrays our brothers and sisters who have no other option but to fight or face being wiped off the face of this planet.

The new slaves of the West criticize Islamist parties and governance by shari’ah. I call them the Happy Clappies. They are being flown in by the Government from the US, Canada, Yemen and Mauritania to preach a diluted form of Islam.The end result of all this has been a dilution of the deen of Allah, a weak and pacified Islam willing to accept the status quo in which Muslims are oppressed and subjugated; an Islam in which Muslims condemn the actions of their brothers and sisters who courageously resist occupation and oppression with whatever they have.Even making dua for them now has become a crime – how long before we are told not to even pray for the mujahideen?

One of the greatest military generals the world has known, Saladin Ayyubi, the liberator of al-Quds, was once asked why he didn’t smile. He answered back that how could he smile while knowing that Masjid al-Aqsa, remained under Crusader occupation. I wonder what he would make of the state of the world today? This is a world where Arab leaders belly-danced shamelessly in front of America while handing Iraq over on a plate.The same Arab leaders look the other way as our beautiful Palestine is continually raped and sodomized, and that other great daughter of the Arab world, Lebanon … where was the Arab world when she was so brutally assaulted. And the war drums are beating again. Not only is the whole world watching, but so are our children, our youth, our future.We must nuture them, and inspire them with tales of the Prophet and the Sahaba. A

s long as the Ummah continues to throw up figures like Khalid bin Walid, Saladin Ayyoubi, Sayyid Qutb and Malcolm X all is not lost.The more we are oppressed by the tyrants the more we will fight back. That is the nature of Islam. And this is the Islam our youth need to follow, be guided by and inspired. We need to replace those leaders who have castrated themselves in a pathetic attempt to become more Western than the Westerners.Many Muslim youth are now realising that no matter how hard they compromise their deen to blend in with the wider society, when things go sour, they will be treated with suspicion. The more we are told to forget shari’ah, khilafah and jihad, the more Muslims will pay the blood price to uphold these values.

The jihad we are witnessing in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir and Chechnya is something noble, a just war against injustice and tyranny.The actions of the jihadists pose absolutely no threat to the West or Western lifestyles and their resistance is not only justified but embraced and encouraged by international law. The real religious extremists who pose the greatest threat to radicalizing our youth are the Christian Fundamentalists in the White House and Downing Street. Bush and Blair have become al-Qaida’s finest recruiting officers. More and more young Muslims are waking up with the realisation that it is not terrorism or extremism that is being targeted but Islam itself. It is up to the Ummah to lead and inspire our youth, just as The Prophet led and inspired millions and continues to do so.And the first lesson we must teach our youth is to fear none but Allah (swt).

As salam 'alaikum wa rahmat Allahi wa barakatuh.Bismillahi Rahmanir RaheemAlthough we are all born Muslims, I was raised Catholic, and later I formally converted to Buddhism before Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala in His Infinate Mercy and Love offered the Truth to me.As a child I went to Catholic School, and by the time I was a teenager I had found things about Catholic Christianity that did not make sense to me. I used to ask questions like "if God is omnipotent, why must He come to earth in the person of Jesus, and then sacrifice Himself so that our sins can be forgiven? Wouldn't it make more sense for God to forigve the sins of those who cry out to Him in sincere regret and sorrow for their sins?" That question in particular I asked to a well-known priest who told me it was a "Holy Mystery" and that "there are some things you must accept without question, otherwise you don't have faith."

I also asked, again concerning the omnopotence of God, why He should divide Himself (as in the Trinity) in order for believers to better connect with Him? Or why we had to drink wine representing the supposed blood of Christ and eat wafers representing the body of Christ in order to "keep our souls full of the Holy Spirit?" It just made no sense at all, especially when priests would be confirming that God is indeed omnipotent and then at the same time would introduce such silly dogmas and contradictions like the need for Christ to "die on the cross" for us to be "saved."Eventually I just got sick of trying to find the answers to these questions and decided there must be some serious flaws in the doctrines of Christianity and I should remove myself from it.

By this time I had begun to develop some of my own beliefs based on what I considered to be logic and just "what makes sense." Due to already having an interest in things East Asian, I ended up learning about Buddhism, which seemed great to me (except for the fact that Buddhists are either atheistic or they deify the Buddha). I kept to myself the belief in the God of Christianity without accepting anything else of Christianity and decided to take on Buddhism as my religion.After two years of practicing Buddhism, I had learned that in order for me to call myself "a true Buddhist" I would have to stop believing in God and either accept that there is no god or that Buddha himself was a god (even though I had read direct quotes from him saying that he refused to be deified and had even objected to people making images of him, saying always that he was only a man, and had no more power than any other human).

As I began to see the flaws in Buddhism, I first looked into other schools of Buddhism, and then decided the doctrine of Buddhism is itself, like Christianity, flawed.Although I tried, I could not accept atheism because it just made sense to me that there must be a Creator for everything that exists. Everything in the world (in nature as they say) just seems to work so well and be so precise. It made no sense to me that it was all just chance or coincidence. I had to find something that, like Buddhism, promoted equality of all people, wisdom over war, real peace among humanity and nature, and yet was centred around the same God Who I refused to believe did not exist.I took another look at Christianity, this time not to practice, but to study. I saw that there were some truths within the religion, and that some of it made sense. However I concluded that Jesus could not have been more than a man, and my study of the Bible only confirmed this, since he never said he was more than "a servant of the Chrildren of Isreal" or "the Son of Man." The idea that he had to be God because he was called the son of God was also refuted since God had called other people His "son" at various times throughout the Bible, and I concluded we are all "children of God" and thus Jesus must be no more "the same substance as God" as any other human.I began praying to God to show me the Truth, and promised I would accept it no matter what it was called or what I had to do. I knew that if God would send me the Truth, I would never have to do anything I already believed was wrong, and so there was no fear or anxiety in making such a promise.Mere days after my prayer I went to a Multicultural Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, since I had for years been interested in other cultures. I found myself standing in front of a booth called "Islam: The Religion of True Peace."That evening, I took a look at the many papers I had been given at the Islamic Booth. Everything I was reading seemed to make sense.

Everything I found to be truthful about Christianity seemed to be present in Islam as well as everything I found to be true within Buddhism, but from what I was reading, Islam did not seem to have any of the things I found did not make sense within Christianity or Buddhism. By now I had become a bit cynical, because I found many things look great on paper but once you experience it for yourself you tend to find things that "papers" neglect or gloss over. So I write to the webmaster of one of the many websites on the papers I had. Within 30 minutes of my writing, the webmaster called me and suggested I come to the Masjid for a visit. I agreed and the next day, I stood by my front door waiting for the brother who was coming to pick me up and take me there. As I waited I made another prayer.

I asked God if this (Islam) is the Truth, then let it be clear to me, so that I may accept it.Minutes later I saw a small white car pull up in front of my building; inside a thick bearded man with a warm smile waited. I got into the car and met the man who I would soon learn was the Imam of the Masjid to which I was going.Once inside the Masjid, I was greeted with more smiles and even warmer hugs by at least half a dozen guys I had never met before. The Imam must have taken it upon himself to let some brothers know I was coming and they had prepared snacks and drinks and the welcome I received almost brought me to tears (and I was not one to be moved to tears easily).

We sat on the floor in somewhat of a circle and each brother introduced himself to me, after which the Imam, always one to get right to the point as I'd learn later, asked me directly: "Putting aside religious labels and doctrines, what do you, in your heart, believe?" I told him that I believe in God, first and foremost, that God is the Creator of everything, and that I refuse to accept that Jesus, or anyone else, could be God or partnered with God. I said that I respect Jesus as a teacher and certainly a servant of God, but I could not accept the Christian claim of his divinity. I told him that I want to worship God differently than what I had seen earlier in my life, and I am looking for the Truth, so that I may accept it and finally be at peace in my religious quest.I was then lead into a much larger room where a brother was calling out what I would soon learn was the Adhan. As he called I felt like something was piercing my heart (though not painful). Shortly after I saw everyone gather into rows while that same brother made a similar call (the Iqama). They began to offer Dhuhr as I looked on.

I felt myself close my eyes and almost soak in the whole atmosphere around me, which felt to magical, intense, and yet so peaceful and tranquil.When the Salah was finished, and the Imam had finished his Sunnah, I approached him and all I could get out was "ok." Almost as if he knew what was in my heart, he lead me to the front entrance of the Masjid where a group of brothers were standing, smiling. A large, jolly-looking brother laid his arm upon my shoulder and then took my right hand with his right hand. He then said in a heavy accent "Repeat after me. I will say slowly, and you say after I say, ok?"

I nodded and he began: "Ash hadu anla ilaha illa Allah. Ash hadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah. I declare that there is no god except God. I declare that Muhammad is the Messenger of God." With my heart pounding, I pronounced each word as it was pronounced before me. As a wave of emotion took over me, everyone around cheered "Allahu akbar!"I then took part in my first meal as a Muslim, sitting among my newfound brothers and eating of the same food as they, sharing the same plate.

Next I was directed towards a room with a large tub. I was given a towel and explained that I was about to immerse my entire body in water, which was ghusl and would be the final step in assuring I was in a state of purity, and ready to begin my first lessons in living as a Muslim. I spent the rest of the day in that Masjid, and came home after Maghrib. My room-mate was absolutely shocked when I walked in and told him "hey! I'm a Muslim." Alhamdulillahir Rabbil 'alameen. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala forgive any error I have made in this post as I have told my story to the best of my memory and thus may have forgot or confused some of the facts. If my story has brought any level of inspiration to anyone, then all praise is due to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, and I take as my own any mistakes.I ask Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to strengthen me as I continue to learn, and forgive me when I am weak. I ask Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to strengthen and unite the Ummah and help us to bring True Peace to our fragile world. Ameen.Wa salam.

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim, RahimahullaahIbn al-Qayyim said, in regards to the description of the Paradise and the delights that it contains:

"And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and saffron.

And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers, then there are rivers of milk who's taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is Tasneem, ginger, and Kaafoor.

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like a concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in buildings that have rivers running underneath them.And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky, then look at the shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of silk and gold.And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest silk laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty, then they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years in the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing of their wives from among the Hoor al-'Ayn, and better than that are the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and full-breasted and have had the liquid of youth flow through their limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it, light shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her love, then say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights; he sees his face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking into a polished mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her muscles and bones; if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she would fill what is between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful wind, and the mouths of the creation would glorifiy, praise, and exclaim greatness, and everything between the East and the West would be adorned for her, and every eye would be shut from everthing but her, and the light of the Sun would be outshone just as the light of the Sun outshines the light of the stars, and everyone on the face of the Earth would believe in the Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and Protects all the exists.

And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from an umbilical cord, childbirth and menses, and pure of mucous, saliva, urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his desire, and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has touched her before of either humans or Jinn.

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face - free from any resemblance or likeness to anything - as you see the Sun in the middle of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the day that the caller will call: 'O People of Paradise! Your Lord - Blessed and Exalted - requests you to visit Him, so come to visit Him!' So they will say: 'We hear and obey!'Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all meet - and none of them will turn down the request of the caller - the Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will order His Chair to be brought there. Then, pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls, gemstone, gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on sheets of musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs above them are given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting and are secure in their places, and the caller calls: 'O People of Paradise! You have an appointment with Allaah in which He wishes to reward you!' So they will say: 'And what is that reward? Has He not already made our faces bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into Paradise, and pushed us away from the Fire?'And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold: the Compeller - Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names - has come to them from above them and majestified them and said: 'O People of Paradise! Peace be upon you!' So, this greeting will not be responded to with anything better than: 'O Allaah! You are Peace, and from You is Peace! Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!'

So the Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will laugh to them and say: 'O People of Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen Me? This is the Day of Increase!'So, they will all give the same response: 'We are pleased, so be pleased with us!' So, He will say: 'O People of Paradise! If I were not pleased with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My Paradise! So, ask of Me!' So, they will all give the same response: 'Show us your Face so that we may look at it!' So, the Lord - Mighty and Majestic - will remove his covering and will majestify them and will cover them with His Light, which, if Allaah - the Exalted - had not Willed not to burn them, would have burned them.

And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except that his Lord - the Exalted - will speak to him and say: 'Do you remember the day that you did this and that?' and He will remind him of some of his bad deeds in the Worldy life, so he will say: 'O Lord! Will you not forgive me?' So, He will say: 'Of course! You have not reached this position of yours (in Paradise) except by my forgiveness.'So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife...

Allahs Messager s.a.w.s(May Allahs peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Who ever meet himselfe,he will meet His Lord“. There is so much truth reflected in this litlle sentence,which is nothing but truth. In my own thoughts this haadaith,the words of my beloved Prophet Mohammed s.a.w.s guideed me to the diffrent thoughts again,and on the end to the Truth. We can say:“Who ever meet His Lord,he will meet himselfe“,and it is truth again. Who ever meet Allah Almighty and all His Greatness and Mercy he will meet so much divine Beauty in himselfe,the reason of his existence and the way which he should foolow.
Life is a gift I have said to myselfe many years ago, and I say that now while watching in sky and its blue dresses. But I have heared that someone has said:

„You do not have the right to live“ . Again the same arogancy in heart and words of the one that loves only himselfe, of the one that values only that what is his, of the one that humilates others on the base of nothing. Becouse of his stone heart he has forgot the basic rights of every human. The right on dreams, belifs, , those moments in which we clean our souls to meet our Lord without a shame of ourselves while going on journey where peacefull and pleased souls have discover the secret of life and there existence. But yet that arogant soul thinks not only that life of other worths nothing, but he also thinks that he has the right to take that „worthles“ life. Souch shame has falln on this lost soul. Souch sadness when he seas himselfe in a tear that has been shead by the soul that went on journey to her Lord. Did he forget, did they forget that Allah is the One who is giving life and that we all belong to Him Only??? Did he forget,did they forget that there is not sense of life without piety,and piety is understaning that Allah is above everyone adn everything. The existence of God is proved with God itselfe. God is always backing to Him selfe and proving His Existence by Him selfe.

Pious man or women are His Greatest Proofs, We must be the sources of goodnes,love,giving,Mercy and all other beautiful characteristics which will make us perfect human beings.

I have heared the wind saying“Allah is the Greatest“, and I have seen him passing that message to those flowers in a garden,than to those birds, than to those clouds, stars, to everything that is alive. Everything around me is witnessing – every river to her mouth comes, just like it is remainding us to be carefull while choosing which water in our hands we will bring, becouse in oasis of clean rivers only clean can flow. I want to fulfill my life with cleaning myselfe and others, becouse how uncline I will come to Him. „Allah is the Greatest“ my heart has witnissed , when the wind has promissed to me that he will take my message to all those whose hearts are opened to live for Him, to those whose eyes are opened to look for Him, to those whose souls are opened to cry for Him.

To me, to remaind me on Him, becouse my heart suffers when I forgot on The Most Loving One.

Allah: الله Allah is the proper name in Arabic for The One and Only God, The Creator and Sustainer of the universe. It is used by the Arab Christians and Jews for the God (Eloh-im in Hebrew; 'Allaha' in Aramaic, the mother tongue of Jesus, pbuh). The word Allah does not have a plural or gender. Allah does not have any associate or partner, and He does not beget nor was He begotten.
The Name Allah was not chosen by man but was revealed and referred to by all the Prophets (peace be on them). Allah was the God worshipped by Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham and all the other Prophets sent by him.
The name “Allah” consists of two parts, “Al” which is the definitive article in Arabic and “ilah” which means an object to which subservience, love, reverence, and obedience is shown. Being a combination of these two parts, “Allah” signifies the one and only God, the one whom absolute love, reverence and obedience is shown.

One misconception is that Allah is a new or different deity than that mentioned in the Bible or Torah. However, Arab Christians use this word too, and instead of the English word "God" it is Allah which is used in their bible, prayers and daily rituals. In fact, if they did not know English, they would not know who or what a "God" in the English sense was, as they are accustomed to the use of “Allah”. Nor do they use the word "Jesus", but the same word in Arabic for Jesus which is Isa.

However, the Arab Christians share the same belief about God as other Christians around the world, i.e. that Jesus was his son and the incorrect belief in the Trinity. These beliefs are contrary to those of Islam. As Muslims, we believe that these beliefs are not what Jesus or Gods message in the Bible were intended to be. Allah is the same God that Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus worshipped. Furthermore, Islam was the exact same message that was followed and taught by all the Prophets. And they are far from the erroneous and fabricated claims that the Christians and Jews make about them.
{No son (or offspring or children) did Allâh beget, nor is there any ilâh (god) along with Him; (if there had been many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? Heknows what happens to them {His creatures} in this world, and what will happento them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of HisKnowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens andthe earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He isthe Most High, the Most Great.] Soorat Al Baqarah {2:255}[ Truly, nothing is hidden from Allaah, in the earth or in the heavens.He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. Your Lord is Allaah, So Worship None But Him

And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs {of the sheep,two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female}. He creates you in thewombs of your mothers, creation after creation in three veils of darkness, such isAllaah your Lord. His is the kingdom, laa ilaaha illa Huwa {none deserves to beworshiped but He}. How then are you turned away?] Soorat Az Zumar {39:6}

[ If you disbelieve, then verily, Allaah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelieffor His slaves. And if you are grateful {by being believers}, He is pleased therewith for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in {men's} breasts.] Soorat Az Zumar{39:7}[ Laa ilaaha illa Huwa {none deserves to be worshiped but He}. It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers.] Soorat Ad Dukhaan {44:8}[ O mankind! Worship your Lord, Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become al-Muttaqeen {pious and righteous}.] Soorat AlBaqarah {2:21}

[ And will make him {'Eesaa, Jesus} a Messenger to the Children of Israel{saying}: "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for youout of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes abird by Allaah's Leave; and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and Ibring the dead to life by Allaah's Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, andwhat you store in your houses. Surely, therein is a sign for you, if you believe.]Soorat Aal 'Imraan {3:49}[ O mankind! Verily, there has come to you the Messenger with the truth from your Lord, so believe in him, it is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then certainly to Allaah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. And Allaah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.] Soorat An Nisaa {4:170}

[ O mankind! Verily, there has come to you a convincing proof from your Lord, and We sent down to you a manifest light {this Quraan}. So, as for those who believed in Allaah and held fast to Him, He will admit them to His Mercy and Grace, and guide them to Himself by a Straight Path.] Soorat An Nisaa {4:174- 175}[ Such is Allaah, your Lord! Laa ilaaha illa Huwa {none deserves to be worshipped but He}, the Creator of all things. So worship Him {Alone}, and He is the Wakil {trustee, disposer of affairs, guardian, etc.} over all things.] Soorat Al An'aam {6:102}

[ No vision can grasp Him, but His Grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Subtle and Courteous, Well-Acquainted with all things.] Soorat Al An'aam {6:103}[ Verily, proofs have come to you from your Lord, so whosoever sees, will do so for {the good of} his ownself, and whosoever blinds himself, will do so to his own harm, and I am not a watcher over you.] Soorat Al An'aam {6:104}

[ Say: "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: join not anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your parents; kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them; come not near to
al-Fawahish {shameful sins, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.} whether committed openly or secretly, and kill not anyone whom Allaah has forbidden, except for a just cause {according to Islamic law}. This He has commanded you that you may understand.] Soorat Al An'aam {6:151}

[ "And come not near to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he {or she} attains the age of full strength; and give full measure and full weight with justice. We burden not any person, but that which he can bear. And whenever you give your word {i.e. judge between men or give evidence, etc.}, say the truth even if a near relative is concerned, and fulfill the covenant of Allaah, This He commands you, that you may remember."] Soorat Al An'aam {6:152}
[ "And verily, this {i.e. Allaah's Commandments mentioned in the above twoverses 151 and 152} is my Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not {other} paths, for they will separate you away from His Path. CHARACTERISTICS OF PROPHET MOHAMMED S.A.W.S(Allahs mercy.love and blessings be upon him)

~His Appearance

Muhammad was of a height a little above the average.

He was of sturdy build with long muscular limbs and tapering fingers. The hair of his head was long and thick with some waves in them. His forehead was large and prominent, his eyelashes werelong and thick, his nose was sloping, his mouth was somewhat large and his teeth were well set.

His cheeks were spare and he had a pleasant smile. His eyes were large and black with a touch of brown.

His beard was thick and at the time of his death, he had seventeen gray hairs in it. He had a thin line of fine hair over his neck and chest.

His gait was firm and he walked so fast that others found it difficult to keep pace with him. His face was genial but at times, when he was deep in thought, there were long periods of silence, yet he always kept himself busy with something.

He did not speak unnecessarily and what he said was always to the point and without any padding. At times he would make his meaning clear by slowly repeating what he had said. His laugh was mostly a smile.

He kept his feelings under firm control - when annoyed, he would turn aside or keep silent, when pleased he would lower his eyes (Shamail Tirmizi).

~Dress Of Prophet Mohammed

His dress generally consisted of a shirt, tamad (trousers), a sheet thrown round the sholders and a turban.

On rare occasions, he would put on costly robes presented to him by foreign emissaries in the later part of his life (Ahmed, Musnad, Hafiz Bin Qaiyyam). His blanket had several patches (Tirmizi).

He had very few spare clothes, but he kept them spotlessy clean (Bukhari). He wanted others also to put on simple but clean clothes.

Once he saw a person putting on dirty clothes and remarked, "Why can't this man wash them." (Abu Dawud, Chapter "Dress"). On another occasion he enquired of a person in dirty clothes whether he had any income.

Upon getting a reply in the affirmative, he observed, "When Allah has blessed you with His bounty, your appearence should reflect it." (Abu Dawud) He used to observe: "Cleanliness is piety".

~Mode of Living Of Prophet Mohammed

His house was but a hut with walls of unbaked clay and a thatched roof of palm leaves covered by camel skin.

He had separate apartments for his wives, a small room for each made of similar materials. His own apartment contained a rope cot (1*), a pillow stuffed with palm leaves , the skin of some animal spread on the floor and a water-bag of leather and some weapons.

These were all his earthly belongings, besides a camel, a horse, and some land which he had aquired in the later part of his life. (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud). Once some of his disciples, noticing the imprint of his mattress on his body, wished to give him a softer bed, but he politely declined the offer saying, "What have I to do with worldly things.

My connection with the world is like that of a traveler resting for a while underneath the shade of a tree and then moving on."

Amr Ibn Al-Harith, a brother-in-law of the Prophet , says that when the Prophet died, he did not leave a cent, a slave man or woman, or any property except his white mule, his weapons and a piece of land which he had dedicated for the good of the community. (Sahih Bukhari).

He advised the people to live simple lives and himself practised great austerities. Even when he had become the virtual king of Arabia, he lived an austere life bordering on privation. His wife Ayesha (radiyallaahu `anha) says that there was hardly a day in his life when he had two square meals. (Sahih Muslim,, Vol.2, pg 198).

When he died there was nothing in his house except a few seeds of barley left from a mound of the grain obtained from a Jew by pawning his armour. (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Chapter "Aljihad").

He had declared unlawful for himself and his family anything given by the people by way of zakat or sadaqa (types of charity). He was so particular about this that he would not appoint any member of his family as a zakat collector. (Sahah-Kitab Sadaqat).

~Hazrat Muhammad Manners and Disposition

"By the grace of Allah, you are gentle towards the people; if you had been stern and ill-tempered, they would have dispersed from round about you" (translation of Qur'an 3:159)

About himself the Prophet said "Allah has sent me as an apostle so that I may demonstrate perfection of character, refinement of manners and loftiness of deportment." (2*) (Malik, Mawatta; Ahmed, Musnad; Mishkat) By nature he was gentle and kind hearted, always inclined to be gracious and to overlook the faults of others. Politeness and courtesy, compassion and tenderness, simplicity and humility, sympathy and sincerity were some of the keynotes of his character.

In the cause of right and justice he could be resolute and severe but more often than not, his severity was tempered with generosity. He had charming manners which won him the affection of his followers and secured their devotion.

Though virtual king of Arabia and an apostle of Allah, he never assumed an air of superiority. Not that he had to conceal any such vein by practice and artifice: with fear of Allah, sincere humility was ingrained in his heart. He used to say,

"I am a Prophet of Allah but I do not know what will be my end." (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Chapter "Al-Janaiz") In one of his sermons calculated to instill the fear of Allah and the Day of Reckoning in the hearts of men, he said, "O people of Quraish be prepared for the Hereafter, I cannot save you from the punishment of Allah; O Bani Abd Manaf, I cannot save you from Allah; O Abbas, son of Abdul Mutalib, I cannot protect you either; O Fatima, daughter of Muhammad, even you I cannot save." (Sahihain)

He used to pray, "O Allah! I am but a man. If I hurt anyone in any manner, then forgive me and do not punish me." (Ahmed, Musnad, Vol. 6 p. 103) He always received people with courtesy and showed respect to older people and stated: "To honor an old man is to show respect to Allah." He would not deny courtesy even to wicked persons. It is stated that a person came to his house and asked permission for admission.

The Prophet remarked that he was not a good person but might be admitted. When he came in and while he remained in the house, he was shown full courtesy. When he left Ayesha (radiyallaahu `anha) said, "You did not think well of this man, but you treated him so well." The Prophet replied, "He is a bad person in the sight of Allah who does not behave courteously and people shun his company because of his bad manners." (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari)

He was always the first to greet another and would not withdraw his hand from a handshake till the other man withdrew his. If one wanted to say something in his ears, he would not turn away till one had finished (Abu Dawud, Tirmizi). He did not like people to get up for him and used to say, "Let him who likes people to stand up in his honour seek a place in hell." (Abu Dawud, Kitabul Adab, Muhammadi Press, Delhi). He would himself, however, stand up when any dignitary came to him. He had stood up to receive the wet-nurse who had reared him in infancy and had spread his own sheet for her. His foster-brother was given similar treatment. He avoided sitting at a prominent place in a gathering, so much so that people coming in had difficulty in spotting him and had to ask which was the Prophet . Quite frequently uncouth bedouins accosted him in their own gruff and impolite manner but he never took offence.(Abu Dawud Kitabul Atama). He used to visit the poorest of ailing persons and exhorted all Muslims to do likewise (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Chapter "Attendance on ailing persons"). He would sit with the humblest of persons saying that righteousness alone was the criterion of one's superiority over another. He invariably invited people be they slaves, servants or the poorest believers, to partake with him of his scanty meals (Tirmizi, Sunan Tirmizi).

Whenever he visited a person he would first greet him and then take his permission to enter the house. He advised the people to follow this etiquette and not to get annoyed if anyone declined to give permission, for it was quite likely the person concerned was busy otherwise and did not mean any disrespect (Ibid). There was no type of household work too low or too undignified for him. Ayesha (radiyallaahu `anha) has stated, "He always joined in household work and would at times mend his clothes, repair his shoes and sweep the floor. He would milk, tether, and feed his animals and do the household shopping." (Qazi Iyaz: Shifa; Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Chapter: Kitabul Adab) He would not hesitate to do the menial work of others, particularly of orphans and widows (Nasi, Darmi).

Once when there was no male member in the house of the companion Kabab Bin Arat who had gone to the battlefield, he used to go to his house daily and milk his cattle for the inhabitants. (Ibn Saad Vol. 6, p 213).

~Prophet Mohammed And Children

He was especially fond of children and used to get into the spirit of childish games in their company. He would have fun with the children who had come back from Abyssinia and tried to speak in Abyssinian with them. It was his practice to give lifts on his camel to children when he returned from journeys.

(Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2 p.886).

He would pick up children in his arms, play with them, and kiss them.

A companion, recalling his childhood, said, "In my childhood I used to fell dates by throwing stones at palm trees. Somebody took me to the Prophet who advised me to pick up the dates lying on the ground but not to fell them with stones. He then patted me and blessed me." (Abu Dawud)

~Daily Routine of Prophet Mohammed

On the authority of Ali (kaw), Tirmizi has recorded that the Prophet had carefully apportioned his time according to the demands on him for offering worship to Allah in and his personal matters.

After the early morning prayers he would remain sitting in the mosque reciting praises of Allah till the sun rose and more people collected. He would then preach to them. After the sermons were over, he would talk genially with the people, enquire about their welfare and even exchange jokes with them.

Taxes and revenues were also disrtibuted at this time (Sahih Muslim, Tirmizi, Sunan Tirmizi). He would then offer chaste prayers and go home and get busy with household work. (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmizi). He would again return to the mosque for the mid-day and afternoon prayers, listen to the problems of the people and give solace and guidance to them.

After the afternoon prayers, he would visit each of his wives and, after the evening prayers, his wives would collect at one place and he would have his dinner. (Sahih Muslim,).

After the night prayers, he would recite some suras of the Quran and before going to bed would pray: "O Allah, I die and live with thy name on my lips." On getting up he would say, "All praise to Allah Who has given me life after death and towards Whom is the return."

He used to brush his teeth five times a day, before each of the daily prayers. After midnight, he used to get up for the tahajjud prayers which he never missed even once in his life. (Sahih Bukhari). He was not fastidious about his bed: sometimes he slept on his cot (1*), sometimes on a skin or ordinary matress, and sometimes on the ground (Zarqani). On friday he used to give sermons after the weekly "Jumu`a" prayers. He was not annoyed if anyone interrupted him during the sermons for anything. It is stated that once, while he was delivering his sermon, a bedouin approached him and said, "O messenger of Allah, I am a traveler and am ignorant of my religion."

The Prophet got down from the pulpit, explained the salient features of Islam to him and then resumed the sermon (Tirmizi, Sunan Tirmizi).

On another occasion his grandson Husain, still a child, came tumbling to him while he was delivering a sermon. He descended and took him in his lap and then continued the sermon (Ibid).

~Trust in Allah Subhanahu wah ta`ala

Muhammad preached to the people to trust in Allah Subhanahu wah ta`ala. His whole life was a sublime example of this precept. In the loneliness of Makkah, in the midst of persecution and danger, in adversity and tribulations, and in the thick of enemies in the battles of Uhud and Hunain, complete faith and trust in Allah Subhanahu wah ta`ala appears as the dominant feature in his life

. However great the danger that confronted him, he never lost hope and never allowed himself to be unduly agitated. Abu Talib knew the feelings of the Quraish when the Prophet started his mission. He also knew the lengths to which the Quraish could go, and requested the Prophet to abandon his mission, but the latter calmly replied, "Dear uncle, do not go by my loneliness. Truth will not go unsupported for long.

The whole of Arabia and beyond will one day espouse its cause." (Ibn Hisham, Sirat-ur-Rasul.) When the attitude of the Quraish became more threatening, Abu Talib again begged his nephew to renounce his mission but the Prophet's reply was: "O my uncle, if they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left, to force me to renounce my work, verily I would not desist thereform until Allah made manifest His cause, or I perished in the attempt." (Ibid) To another well-wisher, he said, "Allah will not leave me forelorn." A dejected and oppressed disciple was comforted with the words: "By Allah, the day is near when this faith will reach its pinnacle and none will have to fear anyone except Allah." (Sahih Bukhari) It was the same trust in Allah Subhanahu wah ta`ala which emboldened the Prophet to say his prayers openly in the Harâm in the teeth of opposition.

The Quraish were once collected there and were conspiring to put an end to his life the next time he entered the Harâm.

His young daughter Fatima, who happened to overhear their talk rushed weeping to her father and told him of the designs of the Quraish. He consoled her, did his ablutions and went to the Kaaba to say prayers. There was only consternation among the Quraish when they saw him. (Ahmed, Musnad, Vol. 1, p. 368). Then leaving his house for Madinah he asked Ali (radiyallaahu `anhu) to sleep on his bed and told him, "Do not worry, no one will be able to do you any harm" (Tabari, Ibn Hisham) Even though the enemies had surrounded the house, he left the house reciting the Quranic verse: "We have set a barricade before them and a barricade behind them and (thus) have covered them so that they see not" (translation of Qur'an 36:9) Abu Bakr (radiyallaahu `anhu) was frightened when pursuers came close to the cavern in which he and Prophet Muhammad were hiding during their flight, but the Prophet heartened him, "Grieve not. Allah is with us." A guard was kept at the Prophet's house in Madinah because of the danger that surrounded him but he had it withdrawn when the Quranic verse was revealed: "Allah will protect you from the people" (translation of Qur'an 5:67). A man was caught waiting in ambush to assault the Prophet but he was directed to be released with the words, "Even if this man wanted to kill me, he could not." (Ahmed, Musnad, Vol.3 p. 471) A Jewess from Khaibar had put poison in the Prophet's food. He spat it out after taking a morsel but a disciple who had his fill died the next day. The Jewess was brought before the Prophet who questioned her: "Why did you do this?" "To kill you," was her defiant reply. She was told, "Allah would not have allowed you to do it." (Sahih Muslim,.) I

n the battle of Uhud when the rear guard action of the Makkan army had disorganized the Muslim army and had turned the tables, the Prophet stood as firm as a rock even though he had suffered personal injuries. When Abu Sufiyan taunted the Muslims and shouted "Victory to hubal!" (hubal was one of their idols), the Prophet asked Umar (radiyallaahu `anhu) to shout back, "Allah is our protector and friend. You have no protector and friend. Allah is Great, Magnificent." (Ibn Hisham, Sirat-Ur-Rasul). Again in the battle of Hunain, when the unexpected assault of the army had swept the Muslim force off its feet and a defeat seemed imminent, the Prophet did not yield ground. With trust in Allah (swt) he showed such courage that the Muslim army rallied behind him to win a signal victory.

~Justice Of Prophet Mohammed

The Prophet asked people to be just and kind. As the supreme judge and arbiter (3*), as the leader of men, as generalissimo of a rising power, as a reformer and apostle, he had always to deal with men and their affairs.

He had often to deal with mutually inimical and warring tribes when showing justice to one carried the danger of antagonizing the other, and yet he never deviated from the path of justice. In administering justice, he made no distinction between believers and nonbelievers, friends and foes, high and low.

From numerous instances reported in the traditions, a few are given below. Sakhar, a chief of a tribe, had helped Muhammad greatly in the seige of Taif, for which he was naturally obliged to him.

Soon after, two charges were brought against Sakhar: one by Mughira of illegal confinement of his (Mughira's) aunt and the other by Banu Salim of forcible occupation of his spring by Sakhar. In both cases, he decided against Sakhar and made him undo the wrong. (Abu Dawud, Sunan Dawud, p.80) Abdullah Bin Sahal, a companion, was deputed to collect rent from Jews of Khaibar.

His cousin Mahisa accompanied him but, on reaching Khaibar, they had separated. Abdullah was waylaid and done to death. Mahisa reported this tragedy to the Prophet but as there were no eye-witnesses to identify the guilty, he did not say anything to the Jews and paid the blood-money out of the state revenues. (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari Nasai). A woman of the Makhzoom family with good connections was found guilty of theft. For the prestige of the Quraish, some prominent people including Asama Bin Zaid interceded to save her from punishment. The Prophet refused to condone the crime and expressed displeasure saying, "Many a community ruined itself in the past as they only punished the poor and ignored the offences of the exalted. By Allah, if Muhammad's (my) daughter Fatima would have committed theft, her hand would have been severed." (Bukhari, Sahh Bukhari, Chapter "al-hudûd") The Jews, in spite of their hostility to the Prophet , were so impressed by his impartiallity and sense of justice that they used to bring their cases to him, and he decided them according to Jewish law. (Abu Dawud, Sunan Dawud) Once, while he was distributing the spoils of war, people flocked around him and one man almost fell upon him. He pushed the men with a stick causing a slight abrasion.

He was so sorry about this that he told the man that he could have his revenge, but the man said, "O messenger of Allah, I forgive you." (Abu Dawud, Kitablu Diyat).

In his fatal illness, the Prophet proclaimed in a concourse (4*) assembled at his house that if he owed anything to anyone the person concerned could claim it; if he had ever hurt anyone's person, honor or property, he could have his price while he was yet in this world. A hush fell on the crowd. One man came forward to claim a few dirhams which were paid at once. (Ibn Hisham, Sirat-ur-Rasul)

~His Sense for Equality

Hazrat Muhammad asked people to shun notions of racial, family or any other form of superiority based on mundane things and said that righteousness alone was the criterion of one's superiority over another.

It has already been shown how he mixed with everyone on equal terms, how he ate with slaves, servants and the poorest on the same sheet (a practice that is still followed in Arabia), how he refused all privileges and worked like any ordinary laborer.

Two instances may, however, be quoted here: Once the Prophet visited Saad Bin Abadah. While returning Saad sent his son Quais with him. The Prophet asked Quais to mount his camel with him. Quais hesitated out of respect but the Prophet insisted: "Either mount the camel or go back." Quais decided to go back. (Abu Dawud, Kitabul Adab) On another occasion he was traveling on his camel over hilly terrain with a disciple, Uqba Bin Aamir. After going some distance, he asked Uqba to ride the camel, but Uqba thought this would be showing disrespect to the Prophet . But the Prophet insisted and he had to comply.

The Prophet himself walked on foot as he did not want to put too much load on the animal. (Nasai p. 803)

The prisioners of war of Badr included Abbas, the uncle of the Prophet . Some people were prepared to forgo their shares and remit the Prophet's ransom but he declined saying that he could make no distinctions. (Bukhari, Sahih Bukhari, Chapter "Ransoms") During a halt on a journey, the companions apportioned work among themselves for preparing food.

The Prophet took upon himself the task of collecting firewood. His companions pleaded that they would do it and that he need not take the trouble, but he replied, "It is true, but I do not like to attribute any distinction to myself. Allah does not like the man who considers himself superior to his companions." (Zarqani, Vol 4 p. 306)

~His Kindness to Animals

If he saw any animal over-loaded or ill-fed he would pull up the owner and say, "Fear Allah in your treatment of animals." (Abu Dawud, Kitab Jihad).

~His Love for the Poor

The Prophet enjoined upon Muslims to treat the poor kindly and to help them with alms, zakat, and in other ways. He said: "He is not a perfect Muslim who eats his fill and lets his neighbor go hungry." He asked, "Do you love your Creator? Then love your fellow beings first." Monopoly is unlawful in Islam and he preached that "It is diffucult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path that leads to bliss." He did not prohibit or discourage the aquisition of wealth but insisted that it be lawfully aquired by honest means and that a portion of it would go to the poor. He advised his followers "to give the laborer his wages before his perspiration

Asalamu alaykum

One of my friends sent this to me and I thought it might brighten you as it did to me so i hope you all enjoy it.

As you got up this morning, I watched you, and hoped you would talk to me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanking me for something good that happened in your life yesterday. But I noticed you were too busy, trying to find the right outfit to wear. When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait, fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet. I thought you wanted to talk to me, but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip instead. I watched patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, may be you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head. You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't. That's okay. There is still more time left, and I hope that you will talk to me yet. You went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV. I don't know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spend lot of time each day in front of it not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me. Bedtime I guess you felt too tired. After you said good night to your family you popped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay because you may not realize that I am always there for you. I've got patience, more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, prayer or thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up once again. And once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you. Hoping that today you will give me some time. Have a nice day!

The effects of Holy Quran upon the Hearts of People!!!

The Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] said: “Allaah did not send any Messenger to a people except that He sent him with something through which people would believe in him.” When Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] sends a Messenger, He sends him with a miracle or something that is amazing that people cannot reproduce and that is suitable for that time.

If we look at the example of Moosaa [‘alayhi-sallam], we find that he was sent with a staff that was used for and turned into a snake, since in that time magic was wide spread.

If we look to ‘Isa [‘alayhi-sallam], his time was famous for practicing medicine and finding cures for different diseases, so Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] sent him with that ability [by His will] to cure the lepers, the blind and the deaf.

One of the greatest miracles that the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] was sent with is the Qur’aan. It is the miracle that will remain until nobody believes in Allaah and it is the miracle with which Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] challenged the Jinn and Mankind to produce the like thereof. Allaah described it as:“[This is] a Book [the Qur’aan] which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.” [Sad 38:29]

Before the Qur’aan was sent, at that time the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] lived in a time in which the Arabs used to pride themselves on their eloquence and they used to gather in their seasonal markets and recite poems to each other. A poet would come and recite a poem consisting of 100 or 200 lines and people would go home having memorised the entire poem, and they used to take pride in that. Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala], challenged the Jinn and Mankind, after revealing it, to reproduce anything that is similar or the like of the Qur’aan and He challenged them by saying:“Say: ‘If the Mankind and the Jinn’s were together to produce the like of this Qur’aan, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another’.” [Al-Isra 17:88]

In order for us to appreciate and truly understand the greatness of the Qur’aan, we need to ponder and reflect over those verses in which Allaah challenged the Jinn and Mankind to bring the following: We have different degrees of that challenge, starting with the verses we just mentioned [above], Allaah said that they are not able to bring a whole book that resembles the Qur’aan, since they were not able to do it to that degree, Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] lessened the challenge and He [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] said: “Say: ‘Bring you then ten forged Surah [chapters] like unto it’.” [Hud 11:13]The challenge was reduced from the whole book to ten chapters like that of the Qur’aan.

Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] then challenged anyone to bring just one chapter like a chapter in the Qur’aan, and that the word chapter here is indefinite which from Arabic Grammar implies any chapter, short or long. And then lastly Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] said: “...then produce a Surah [chapter] of the like thereof...” [Al-Baqarah 2:23]Meaning that since you have not been able to bring anything like that of the above then something close to any chapter, but nobody from mankind or from the Jinn was or has been able to achieve this. Does that not prove beyond any doubt that this Book is indeed very great because nobody has been able to meet the challenge? This also proves to us that this Book, as Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] said, is from the Revelation of the One Who is Wise and the One who is All-Aware of everything. The greatness of the Qur’aan is shown by the fact that even Non-Muslims may [come to] realise its greatness, even though they may not understand the meaning of the Qur’aan they may still find its greatness. Unfortunately, as Muslims, sometimes we may not appreciate the greatness of the Qur’aan.

When the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] was in Makkah, the people gave him an offer, they said: “Oh Muhammad, if you want wealth or money we will give it to you, if you want women we will marry you to the most beautiful women of the Arabs, and if you want to rule us, we will give you the kingdom, just leave what you are doing and stop calling the people to Allaah [to tawheed].” After which the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] said: “Have you finished?” And this shows the manners of the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] to a Non-Muslim who is calling him to disbelief, he did not interrupt him until he finished and asked him: “Have you finished”, and the man stated that he had.

Then the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam], started reciting Surah Fussilat in reply to his offer, and he kept reciting until he reached the saying of Allaah:“But if they turn away, then say [O Muhammad]: ‘I have warned you of a Saa’iqah [a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt] like the Saa’iqah which overtook 'Ad and Thamood [people]’.” [Fussilat 41:13]When he [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] reached the above verse, the man who had come to negotiate and make an offer, he said: “Enough O Muhammad, enough O Muhammad.” He could understand the meaning [of what was being recited] and he became affected by it

.Another example is the story of Jibrayah Muta’im. Before [his reversion to] Islam the disbelievers of Makkah waged a public relations war on the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam]. They used to tell everyone not to listen to him and spread propaganda claiming that he [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] was magician, a poet etc., despite this, Jibrayah Muta’im went to see the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] and he saw him praying near the Ka’bah. The Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] [after Maghrib] was reciting Surah at-Tur, and he said: “When he reached: ‘Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?’ [At-Tur 52:35]I thought my heart was going to fly out of my body.”

One of my friends was studying in America. He was travelling on a bus and he was reciting Surah ad-Dhua. An American woman heard him, approached him and asked: “What are you reciting?” He said: “This is the Book of Allaah, I am reciting the Qur’aan.” She said: “This attracted me can you recite it again?” So the brother started to recite Surah Zalzalah, the women said: “This is not what you recited before but it is still nice, could you give me something that I can benefit from, like a tape or something I can listen to?” The brother went and he forgot, but when she saw him again [on the bus] she reminded him: “Remember you promised to give me a tape.” He said: “I searched through my sound library but I only found a tape by Shaykh Ali ‘Abdullaah Jaabir, which was recorded in a studio as opposed to the Masjid in Makkah. There is a difference because the recitation in the Masjid in Makkah is generally more beautiful, but inshaa’Allaah she will be affected by it!” He gave her the tape. After three months they met again and she said: “There has not been a single night from that time until now except that every single night I listened to this tape, and when I tried to go to bed without this tape I couldn’t do it.” This woman didn’t even know the difference between Alif, Baa and Taa, so how comes it affects the Non-Muslims and many times it does not affect us, the Muslims?Imaam al-Qurtubi [rahimahullaah] related a story in which he said: In that time it was the custom of the rulers to gather yearly and to have meetings.

They would invite the scholars and the people of knowledge so that the meetings would be full of knowledge. There was a man in that gathering who could speak Arabic well and it was said to the ruler that this individual is not actually a Muslim, he is a Jew. He [the ruler] was surprised and so he said to him: “Why don’t you become a Muslim and I will give you something to strengthen you in Islam, like some money or something material?” But he [the Jewish man] said: “This is the religion of my forefathers and so I will stay on it.” When the next years gathering was taking place, the same man was in the gathering and so the ruler looked at him and said: “Are you the same man I saw last year?” It appeared that the man had embraced Islam, and so he asked him: “Have you embraced Islam?” He said: “Yes!” The ruler asked him: “What made you embrace Islam?” He replied: “I am a man with very good handwriting so I decided to try the three books, the Torah, the Bible and the Qur’aan, to see which one of them is the truth. I copied three copies of the Torah with my nice handwriting and I added things to it from myself and I took some things out of it myself, and I took it to the market and decided to sell it, and the people bought all of them from me, so I knew that the religion [of Judaism] is false.” He did the same with the Bible and the same happened, he did the same with the Qur’aan and nobody bought a single copy from him because they realised that this was not the true Qur’aan, he said: “Then I knew that this is the true religion and I embraced Islam.”A great scholar was at that gathering by the name and when he heard the story [of the man’s reversion]; he addressed the ruler and informed him that there is what confirms to what he has just said in the Qur’aan, in Surah al-Ma’idah. Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’aala] says: “And the rabbis and the priests [too judged the Jews by the Tauraat [Torah] after those Prophets] for to them was entrusted the protection of Allaah’s Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me [O Jews] and sell not My Verses for a miserable price.” [Al-Ma’idah 5:44]And:“It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr [i.e. the Qur’aan] and surely, We will guard it [from corruption].” [Al-Hijr 15:9]

So Allaah took it upon himself to protect the Qur’aan and with everything that has been mentioned, unfortunately, many of us have abandoned the Qur’aan and we do not treat it seriously, nor do not study it. The Messenger [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] said:“Indeed my people have abandoned this Qur’aan.” Abandoning the Qur’aan can take different shapes and forms:First of all, not reciting it regularly, maybe we do not recite the Qur’aan for a few days in a row; perhaps we do not even recite the Qur’aan for several weeks.Secondly, we may recite it but we may not reflect on what we recite.Thirdly, we may leave acting upon the Qur’aan, what it makes Halaal and what it makes Haraam. Fourthly, we may abandon treating one another with the Qur’aan. Finally, we may even abandon taking the Qur’aan as our judge between us.So if you have abandoned the Qur’aan, then which type of abandonment have you fallen into? We must be very careful not to fall into that du’aa in which the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] said to Allaah that his people have abandoned the Qur’aan.There is a great hadeeth in the Musnad of Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah] stating that the Qur’aan is the accepted intercessor, meaning that when it defends someone and intercedes for that person, Allaah accepts its intercession, and a defender who is believed, when the Qur’aan defends someone Allaah believes and accepts their defence. Whoever puts the Qur’aan in front of him, the Qur’aan will take him to Paradise, and whoever puts the Qur’aan behind him, the Qur’aan will take him to the Fire. Imaam Muslim [rahimahullaah] narrated in his book as part of a long hadeeth a saying of the Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] in which he said: “The Qur’aan is either a proof for you or against you.” There is no third choice, the Qur’aan will either testify for you and will be proof for you or it will be against you, you have to think which way it is going to testify, you have to look at yourself and decide in all honesty, are you really in the group that will be protected and defended by the Qur’aan. That is why we must pay attention to the Qur’aan by studying it, memorising it and understanding its meanings, because the Qur’aan is a treasure that we must learn and discover its knowledge. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab [radee Allaahu ‘anhu] appointed as a governor of an area, a person who was set free at that very moment, who used to be a slave and he was set free, and he appointed him as a governor straight after that, some people said to him: “Why are you appointing this man to be a governor when we have other Companions?” ‘Umar replied to them and said: “Keep quiet because I heard the Messenger of Allaah [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] say: ‘Indeed Allaah raises the status of some people through this Book and lowers the status of some other people through this Book’.” This man [the freed slave] has memorised the Qur’aan and this is what made ‘Umar respect him and raise his status; and that is why a person who memorises the Qur’aan, his status will be raised in this world and he will be mentioned with good things in this world and in the Hereafter.

And finally, I want to advise all of my brothers and sisters to be keen and eager and to put effort into memorising the Qur’aan, they should not be prevented by age or things that may occupy them because learning and memorising the Qur’aan little by little all the time is better than something you do a lot but doesn’t last, you must have that intention in your heart that you want to memorise the Qur’aan, and I indeed hope for every single person who truly intends to memorise the Qur’aan and does what he or she can to do so.

Even if they die and they have not memorised the Qur’aan, I hope sincerely that Allaah will treat them on the Day of Judgement as if they have memorised the Qur’aan and that is why we must expend extra effort to try and memorise, learn and understand this Qur’aan, because one day the Qur’aan will be taken away from the earth to the extent that not a single verse will remain.

By Shaykh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah [d.728H]If it is asked why is one supplicating for guidance to the Straight Path when a Muslim is already regarded to be on the Straight Path? Shaykh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah says,…The case mentioned above is similar to what some of them ask concerning His saying, “Guide us to the Straight Path” [Al-Fatihah 1:6] saying: ‘Allaah has already guided the believer, so what benefit is there in seeking guidance?’ Then some of them reply by saying that the meaning is ‘Keep us firm upon guidance’ as the Arab would say to the one who is asleep, ‘Sleep until I come to you’. Others say that the meaning is, ‘Keep our hearts form upon the guidance’ and that the request for firmness has been omitted. Yet others from amongst them say that it means, ‘Increase me in guidance.’This question really occurs due to the absence of their pondering the Straight Path to which the servant seeks guidance to, for the meaning [of this verse] is [seeking guidance to] act according to what Allaah ordered, and leaving what He forbade in all matters.This is because the person, even if he has believed that Muhammad [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] is the Messenger of Allaah and that the Qur’aan is the truth in a general way, I is commonly in need of knowledge of that which would benefit him and harm him. He is in need of knowledge concerning what he has been commanded to do and forbidden from doing in the finer aspects of his life and in those areas of which he has no knowledge. [Not only this but we find that] that which he does have knowledge of, he does not put the greater part of it into practice! Assuming that all of the commands and prohibitions contained within the Qur’aan and Sunnah have reached him, then the Qur’aan and Sunnah contain laws that are general and universal for which it is not possible to specify to every individual person - therefore the person has been commanded due to the likes of this to ask for guidance to the Straight Path.Guidance to the Straight Path includes all of the following matters: cognisance of what the Messenger [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] came with in detail, cognisance of what comes under his general orders and concern for acting according to ones knowledge, for indeed just having knowledge is not a cause for attaining guidance if one does not act according to his knowledge. This is why He said to His Prophet [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] after the treaty of Hudaybiyyah,“Indeed We have given you a manifest victory. That Allaah may forgive you your sins of the past and the future, complete His favour upon you, and guide you on a Straight Path.” [Al-Fath 48:1-2]And He said with respect to Moosaa and Haroon,“And We gave them the clear Scripture, and guided them to the Right Path.” [As-Saffat 37:117-119]The Muslims have differed as to what Allaah willed from the textual matters - matters of knowledge, belief and action whiles all of them are agreed that Muhammad [sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] is the truth and the Qur’aan is the truth. If all of them were to have attained guidance to the Straight Path in totality, they would have never have differed. Furthermore the majority of those who know what Allaah has ordered disobey Him and do not follow His Way. If they were guided to the Straight Path in these matters then they certainly would have performed what they had been commanded to do, and left what they had been forbidden from. As for those whom Allaah guided from amongst this nation until they became from the God-Fearing Friends of Allaah, the greatest reason for this was their supplicating to Allaah with this supplication [guide us to the Straight Path] in ever prayer along with the knowledge of their continuous need of Allaah that He guide them on the Straight Path. So due to their continually saying this supplication and their acknowledging their continuous need of Him they became God-Fearing Friends of Allaah. Sahl bin ‘Abdullaah at-Tustari said, ‘There is not a route between a servant and Allaah closer to Him than need.’The one who has attained guidance in the past is in need of guidance in the future, this is the real meaning behind the saying of those who say that it means: ‘Establish us and guide us to being firm upon the Straight Path.’ The opinion of those who say that it means: ‘Increase us in guidance’ includes what has preceded. But all that has been stated refers to His guidance to the Straight Path that is to be granted in the future, for indeed action in the future is upon knowledge that is not yet attained. And the person is not considered to be on who is guided until he acts according to his knowledge in the future, but it is possible that this knowledge may not be there in the future, rather it could be removed from the heart, and if it still be there it is also possible that it not be acted upon. Therefore all of mankind is in dire need of this supplication, this is why Allaah made it obligatory upon them in ever prayer and they are not in need of any supplication as they are of this one. When guidance is obtained to the Straight Path then help, provision and all of the happiness that the soul seeks are obtained [from Allaah]. Allaah knows best. [19]Allaah commands His servants to supplicate,“Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us mercy from Yourself. The wife of Fir'awn (Aasiya) was honored by Allah Ta'ala in the Quran:And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe: the wife of Fir'awn, when she said: "My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir'awn and his actions, and save me from the people who are wrong-doers!"[Surah at-Tahrim 66:11]

Commenting on this verse, Ibn Kathir spoke about the torture she under went to test her faith:"Fir'awn's wife used to ask: "Who prevailed (in the conflict between Fir'awn and the Prophets of Allah)?"

When she was told that Musa and Harun had prevailed, she said: "I believe in the Lord of Musa and Harun."Fir'awn sent his aides to her and said to them: "Find the biggest stone you can. If she insists on keeping her faith, throw the stone on her. Otherwise, she is still my wife."They came to her and tortured her under the sun and when the torture session was over, the angels would shade her with their wings and she would look up to the sky and was able to see her house in Paradise. She persisted on her faith until her soul was taken. The heavy stone was then thrown on her lifeless body."[Tafsir Ibn Kathir; 4/505]

The time was spinding round in a circle. The day was coming, and the night was going away. The children were growthing, changing their look, and their look were changing Adem a.s. and Hava. Their bodys were loseing their youth freshness, beauty and strenght. Their skin was becomeing more and more winkle. Behind them they have left many years spend in a big effort fulfill with constant worry and fight. All that they were attending they attended it hard. And on that way they have realised that behind every scess on this world stays big effort. The many years past away, and on the Earth many times again the night was droping down. It was a special night, different then the others. That night was a witness of something that hapend for the first time on the Earth. The win was blowing strongly. The leafs were folling down from old trea that was plant by Adem a.s. When the win stoped blowing and the trea stranghten up from twigs was droping the water, and it seemd that the trea was crying. The trea was very sad just like the stars on the sky. Only the Moon with his silver face quietly watched on the Earth. He felt that down on the Earth was hapening something huge and important, but he did not know what. So he gave an order to his rays, to go fast on Earth and bring him a news about that what was hapening there. And his rays drop down on the Earth and light up hills, rivers, seas and valleys. They were supprised: all creatures were depressed and they were crying. The rays then entered in Adems room, trying to realise why the creatures were so sad. They drop down on Adems face and it was palier and silverier than the face of the Moon. And than it was when Moon has realised that Adem a.s. was daying. So he start to cry to... Adem in his last moments on This world called his children. He spoke to them quietly and distinctly: " Children, there is one ship which takes man way of salvation and there is also one weapon that makes one person strong. That ship is Gods instruction and the weapon are Gods words". The children were listening carefuly, but they did not knew that they are listening the voice of their father for the last time. "You have to know that Allah will never live you alone". Carry over to your children that Gods messangers will come, so respond to their call... And never do forget on dear God. Than he stiff his look and sow that Melek of death was coming to him. That was the first human death on Earth. The death of first man and first Gods messanger.

How to recognise Almighty Allah and his existence

1- What I realize through my senses

I cannot doubt its existence This is a rational spontaneous intuition which is taken for granted, but what is witnessed is that when one walks, at midday, in the desert and sees a pond of water at a remote distance, but when he reaches it, he will discover that is a dust because what he saw was a mirage. By the same token, when one puts the straight pen in a cup of water, he will see it as if it is broken, but really it is not. If someone was at an evening party in which people talked about Jinn and ghosts, on his way home, because the road was dark and empty and if he was scared and had an active imagination, he may have thought he saw a Jinn or a ghost, but in fact it was nothing other than his imagination. The magicians and tricksters display strange things which we see, but they have no reality. Therefore, the senses can make mistakes and be deceived, they can imagine or their owner can imagine, but is this a reasonable cause to doubt the existence of what one realizes?No, because if I doubt what I hear, see, or realizes, my reality will be confused with my imagination and I will be like an insane person.Here, there is another prerequisite to attain the knowledge edge (conviction) that what I realize is existed i.e. the mind should not decree according to the previous experiment and consider it as a basis of conviction. What I felt (realized) in the beginning was an imagination or an illusion of the sense. In the first case, the mind was deluded, it thought the mirage to be water, the pen was still straight although it seemed as if it was broken. The matters in which the senses were mistaken or deluded were definite and well known. This does not invalidate or affect the rule. Amongst these things are the magic done by the magicians of Pharaoh and what is done by magicians in circus nowadays.

2- Necessity of Believing in Allah the Almighty

Belief in Allah is a rational, emotional, psychological, social, political and linguistic necessity. You may wonder why it is also a linguistic necessity and you have the right in doing so.Here, we come to the language and ask, which of them come first meanings or words? Or do the words come first then meanings?It is taken for granted that unless the meaning is very clear in our minds, it is impossible to create the word. In other words, if the meaning is not clear in the mind, we will find no word for it in the language. Therefore, if the meaning precedes the word what can we say concerning the modern meanings which were not existent before that such as for example the terminology of new inventions.The linguistic assemblies state that we should create a word for this new term because it is a modern thing such as radio, TV, missile, refrigerator, spaceship, and helicopter etc. These names accrued from a precedent and particular meanings for them in the mind.In the light of what is mentioned above, it is impossible that the concept of ‘divinity’ is a non-existent concept which has no words. If it is believed what non-existent things cannot reach the degree of having words and if the words cannot precede the meanings, then the spread of such words in the language, culture and civilization of the people is considered to be a clear-cut proof on their existence. On the top of these concepts comes the concept of divinity.Thus, we can deduce that the meaning of belief in the existence of Allah precede the language and the words. Its existence in the human languages, in the anthropological studies, and through history, is a decisive proof that his meaning has an existence in the human thought however numerous its names, forms, or patterns.If one contemplates this question, he will find that there is a harmony and cohesion in the essence of the words to such an extent that they have no contradiction altogether. For example, the word of ‘disbelief’ (kufr) may connote the meaning of ‘belief’ (Iman), for the word Kufr, in essence, means covering. So, the word indicates that there was something existent then it was covered. In other words, covering is something temporary in respect of the existent thing. For this reason, the scholars interpreted the phrase ‘they have disbelieved’ (Kafaru) in the glorious Ayah that it is a condition for something which was existent. In the light of the previous mentioned, we can say that disbelief is something temporary to the belief.Only imagine your life without Allah...How it would be???Only imagine how would you feel that you do not know that Almighty Allah exist.I could not live without Allah and Elhamdulliah that Allah showed us the right way because without knowing for Allah we would really be lost.And this is also one of the greatest gift from dear Allah.How mercisfull He is.

3-Do We Need Proof about The Existence Of Allah?

Once, a scholar of sacred knowledge was asked, what is theproof for the existence of Allah. 'Allah', the scholar replied. Then, hewas asked again, what about the apparatus of mind? 'It is deficient andleads only to something like', he replied.Ibn Ata' As-Sakandan said, "O Allah! How can they cite what needs Youas an evidence for You?! Is there anything more evident than You to be cited as an evidence for You?! When did You cease watching the world that we need an evidence for Your existence?! And how far did you go that now we have to pursue Your traces to find You?! How can He be veiled while He disclosed every-thing?! How can He be veiled while He is evident anywhere?! How can He be veiled while He is the ever Evident and the only One Who has no peer?! How can He be veiled while Lie is nearer to us than anything else?! How can He be veiled while we owe our existence to Him?!Thus there is no comparison between those who know Allah as a source of evidence or as an end of evidence. The former return the right to its owner, whereas the latter are misled. When did He cease watching the world thatwe need evidence for His Existence?! How far did He go so that we have topursue His traces?!

4-Between Faith and Atheism

Once, an atheist teacher said to his disciples, "only what you see really exists. They answered, 'yes.' You notice the tablet, the pen, the notebook and the chair? All of them are visible and touchable, aren't they?' 'Yes,' They replied. Then he said, do you see God? They replied, no. hence, God doesn’t exist. The students were perplexed, because they believed in theexistence of Allah by heart. Meanwhile, Allah disclosed the falsehood ofthese teachers at the hands of one of his disciples. A student after having permission asked, do you understand what the teacher has said, they said, yes. Ok, do you see the teacher now? Yes, they replied. Does the teacher havea mind? 'Yes,' they answered. 'Do you see his mind?' They said, 'No,' hesaid, following the teacher method i.e., "Only what we see does exist." Ourteacher has no mind because it is invisible. Then, all students laughed andthe teacher was amazed and never mentioned that again. The casual influence is a human law and does not apply but to human beings. Also, time and place on earth differ from time and place outside. Thus, the Creator can never be described in terms of time or place nor their laws. More than that, Allah has created such laws, therefore, it is incredible to describe Allah by the laws created by Him.Aristotle mentioned the sequence of these causes by saying, the chairis made from wood, wood from a tree, a tree from a seed, and a seed is cultivated by a teller. Then, he was obliged to say that this sequential causes in the course of endless time must lead to the necessity of the Creator, so isAllah.lbn Arabi when answering this question "who created Allah?" He said, "It is an incredible question since Allah Himself is a source of evidence. Allah is a supreme Being transcendently beyond all creatures qualities, just as light is a proof for the day-time and not the opposite.

5. Why Is Allah Invisible?

To answer this question, let us refer to science concerning matter and the like in this life. If only what we see does exist, there are many invisible things that are beyond our senses. For example, if you put a magnet opposite to a piece of iron, you will notice that the magnet pulls the iron. Where is that power placed between the iron and the magnet? Is it touchable, visible or testable? We just realize it because of its effect as it pulled the iron. This gravity is created as colors. Colors cannot be visible, because ofits great darkness, before being reflected as an object like a cloth, awall, a plate or something else. For example, if we have a green cloth,we should bear in mind that the matter in the cloth has absorbed all colorssave the green, therefore, we notice it as being green and so on. Electricityalso is invisible. Only after lighting a lamp do we notice electricity conducted through wires. But, where is electricity? It is certainly invisible as are ultra violet rays, gravity and many other things that we can only notice them by the effect they leave. Behold, although these created things, gave a small example with regards to the whole world, are invisible, no wonder Allah Who created such things is invisible.

The same example is soul.She is there but we can not see her.Allah Almighty is always there but we can not see him.

She was sitting there all alone,
she was sitting there with her selfe
and her own soul.

She was hiding her look
under that beautiful veil,
that was her choice, peace and happiness.
All alone in her own world she is sitting there.

Maybe they can say that she do not think so well,
and that world is giving to her on the way,
but she is so proud to say
that this is her beautiful veil.

That beautiful veil is her protection,
her beauty,shame and modesty.
And how can they say
that that is something wrong, when that veil
makes her feel blessed and so strong.

Under that beautiful veil,
she is hidden and her secrets.
And it is not because she must hide,
or she must hide her secrets.
It is something much more than that.

They say that she become blind,
and that she do not see anithing under that veil.
But she has eyes like they does.
Her eyes are open under that veil
and their eyes are really closed.

Maybe they can say that she is really lost,
that she is missing so much things,
but they do not know,
that her beautiful veil is the thing
that she loves the most.

They can say that she is not living
anymore on that way,
but her heart understand words to say
that her veil is her only life.

She really knows that this beautiful veil
is true mercy and reword from her Lord.
Like a pearl from the bottom of the sea,
her clothes is keeping her and protecting.

Battle of Ehzaab

Abu Sufyan had succeeded in forming a military alliance composed of the Jews and various tribes of the Arabs. The news of this great army was brought to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). He called a meeting of His Companions. On the suggestion of Hazrat Salman Farsi, a trench of a depth of five cubits and width of more than ten cubits was dug, all around. The ten thousand strong army of Quresh tried to cross it for 25 days but in-vain. At last, the army began to defect and Abu Sufyan was forced to lead it back to Makkah in utter depression.

Ghar-E-Hira (cave of hira)

This Cave, the sanctum of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the place of His devotions and meditations and the sacred spot where the Holy Quran began to be revealed. The Cave is situated on mount Al-Noor on way to Mina near Makkah and its peak is visible from a great distance. Muhammad (peace be upon him) had jus stepped into the forty-first year of his life, when during a night in the month of Ramadan the first 5 verses of the Surah Al-Alaque were Revealed to him.

Battle of Ohod

Ohud is a hill near Madinah. The famous battle of Ohud was fought in the valley of this hill. The non-believers from Quresh, invaded Madinah with an army of three thousand, in the third year of Hijra.

Qiblahtain Mosque

This Mosque is situated in Madinah. In the beginning the Muslims offered their prayers facing in the direction of "Baitul-Maqdis" (Jerusalem). Once during the second year of Hijrah the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was leading the prayers on this mosque, at Banu Salma, when Allah's command came to turn from then on towards The KAABA. So the Mosque came to be called as Masjid-e-Qiblahtain, or the Mosque of two Qiblahs.

The batle of Badar

The first battle between the believers of truth (Islam) and the forces of evil was fought on the battle field of Badar, 60 miles from Madinah towards Makkah. On one side stood a small group of 313 men of whom merely 60 of them wore armour, while facing them was arranged an army of one thousand warriors well armed and equipped. The believers had the strength of their Faith in Allah and His Prophet. They knew that Truth must prevail and falsehood must be destroyed. Thus it was this very Faith which brought about the Miracle and Truth did triumph.

Birth place of the Holy Prophet

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was born on the early morning of Monday the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal (April 3rd, 571 AD) in Makkah. He was named Muhammad (the Praised one, peace be upon him) by his grand-father Abdul Muttalib. The ravages of time have destroyed the original building but the place is the same where stood Abdullah's house the father of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), who belonged to the family of Hashim the noblest tribe of the clan of Quresh.

I was born in Frasher of Permet in 1986 in a family of bektashi origin, though my parents are atheists. At that time, religion was prohibited.

I can remember many things of my childhood in that village and I cannot forget the lots of visitors coming there and the feasts taking place in honour of the “Frasheri Brothers”. As far as I have been living there, I remember that, as soon as the sun dropped, my grandmother took me by the hand to a big stone and, after kissing that stone three times, we light a candle. And she always kept telling me: “This stone has always been protecting us from the Greeks and the Germans”, and we both used to kiss that stone.

Yet today, that stone is still lying there, and tradition is being upheld in that village, with people kissing it and lighting candles on it.

In the year 1991 all my family came to live in Tirana. During that time, the communist system in Albania was collapsing and religion was becoming free again. I remember that in 1991 here in Tirana, while queueing up for water at the drinking-fountain, women were talking over a problem that had come up at that time, and one of them said: “This is a thing that only God knows”. This has been the first time I have ever heard the word God.

To tell the truth, it impressed me very much and with the ? of the human I spontaneously felt the grandiosity of the creator.

It seemed to me as if I already knew that power, even thought it was the first time I had heard about him. That he knew everything! Even though 16 years have passed, I can still remember that situation as well as if it were yesterday.

After attending the first class in 1992, in the endings of the academic year, when we had learned how to read, we were provided with aid from some “people of God”. They were some Italian missionaries. Each child of our class was given 7 chocolates and 2 books. One book was about painting and the other one was about the “Jesus” history with pictures and writings. By giving away such things, the christian church captured my classmates’ hearts. The same things that were narrated in the “Jesus” history of the given book, were also presented in the afternoon on a TV cartoon. There was a red robot travelling in time and coming back to the various prophets’times, according to the christian version.

After watching and reading these things, my classmates and I would do nothing but talk about them at school. In a few words, we did like them. Our parents were atheists, as religion had been “unfettered” and nothing could stop us from believing those things. In the final analysis, we also believed in Santa Claus. Christians were always eager to take us in Church and teach us more about Jesus.

But our relationship with those “people of God” did not last long, because religion was allowed and my uncle wanted our family to uphold our bektashi grandfather’s tradition, as my village is the place where bektashism was first created. So, on ashure’s feast, he took all the family’s children along with him to celebrate. But I was not very attracted, as I did not see any other thing than poetry being read and some paintings of Imam Ali. The opposite went for my brother, who became a devoted bektashi and during that period of time, at home he was always talking about Imam Ali and bektashis in general. A very dissimilar thing happened to my uncle’s son, who emigrated in Greece and I don’t know the reason why he attended a school that would make a priest out of him. Some time later, he changed the religion of his family, turning them into Orthodox Christians, so I had no more chances of attending a masjid.

After 2 more years had passed, I went to the fourth class. There were constructed some one-floor facilities in a big field near my house. They contained some classes, a place with benches for reading, a church, and also some settings with computers. One day, a friend of mine that was not from my neighbourhood told me that in that girded place with many buildings (which was called ADRA, a christian sect), one could learn how to play the guitar, sing in a group (choir), there are yellow discs for Nintendo computers etc. So, on Saturday, I decided to go there, and I liked it very much.

There were speaches on various prophets’ stories, we used to sing, be used to pray all together etc. After going twice with this friend, I got to know 2 Albanian teachers there. They were young, a boy named Elvis and a girl named Genta. And I swear to great Allah that I would always go there and after a month,

I took 12-13 friends from my block of flats and we went there week by week. Even though I was 10 years old, I often used to conduct the prayer for all my friends. But it was great Allah’s will that in 1997 our relationship with our church friends was stopped, because that year civil war broke out due to the banks, and Americans moved out of Albania. After a short period of time, my relatives developped strong relationships with Jehovah’s witnesses, up to the point that, during the war in 1997, when Jehovah’s witnesses had no place to gather, they gathered at my relatives’ home.

I also started going to them and I had a personal teacher coming to my house twice a week. I used to make lots of questions to him, so he gave up, as I used to trap him within his own sayings. I was lucky, because he didn’t know much about his doctrine, so I was left again without a religion.

Considering that in 1998 I was at the sixth class of primary school and I was one of the students whose photo lay on the school’s wall (only best students could be honoured in that way), I used to study biology very well, and I got to the conclusion that human derived from monkey, because our school books’ texts are still nowadays the same as those of the communist regime period. But during this period I often used to suffer when in bed, because I used to think of my death and it seemed quite strange for me the fact that after death, I would feel nothing, as if I were asleep, whilst others would still be living and the world would still be evolving. This has been an awful time for me. Time and again, when I quarreled with my parents, I felt the urge to commit suicide, even though I had everything a child would have at that time. In 1999 I attended a soccer team and I can recall a member of my team telling to the others: “Guys, I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow with the match, because I am going to be thirsty, as I am fasting for Ramazan”. At that time, even though I had a direction to look toward for my life – I had made up my mind for becoming a soccer player – I could still feel that I was not impregnated and I had not given myself what I deserved. I also had an internal feeling about the muslim communion’s seriousness, because

I had watched them on TV praying for Bairam. But there were only old people

. So I asked this friend to take me with him to the mosque, in order to see how they prayed, because I had only watched them on TV for Bairam. My friend asked me: “Are you a Muslim so that I can take you with me?” “’Yes”’, I told him, “but I feel too timid to go there alone” (I don’t know how it came to me to declare myself a Muslim).

And the next day, after workout, I went to the Mosque with this friend for aksham’s namaz. There were 10 more days till Ramazan. It was December 27th 1999. Of course, as soon as I got to the mosque, I saw things that were different from what I had thought. They all behaved very gracefully with each other, they were very simple folks, and I liked very much the fact that they were eating with each other for iftar on the second floor. It was great Allah’s will that the following day I also fasted and sat down to eat with the other guys. And the days to come I took all my friends to the mosque. They all figured out that I was a beginner and they were all smiling at me, nobody gave me an angry look. The friend that brought me to the mosque was not able to come for some days, because his parents did not let him, and he introduced me to another guy, so that I could meet him every day and learn more about Islam.

A few months later I had the chance to go to a camp for 10 days and attend an intensive course on Islam. There were 2 professors from Mekka, named Abdurrashid and Sami. At that period of time, all I knew was the Fatiha and the Keuther Sures. In that camp, I learned the kursij ajet, and 8 last sures of Quran, one sure every day. Both professors were very caring, especially with me. First, because I was new in Islam, compared to the others, and second, because I was the youngest. The first day in that camp I became 14 years old. I learned everything there, for 10 days. After coming back from the 10-day camp with Muslims, my whole life changed. I remember I was ashamed to come back home, because I felt guilty of my previous behaviour towards my parents.

And you cannot imagine how much I was embarrased when I came face to face with my mother as I was going up the stairs home. I did nothing but put my head down and leave, because I could not see her, as I had been very unfair to her. I couldn’t keep myself from crying in the evenings since the last days when I was at the camp.

The same thing happened the very last day, when I must have cried for about 10 or 12 hours on and on. Today is the 27th of December 2007. Exactly 8 years have passed since the time I have joined Islam. For that, I give thanks to God who edified me and I pray to him so as not to become one of those people deviating from the straight path after being edified, as many of my muslim friends have done. Almost 70% do not pray regularly any more. The only thing I aspire to is to die as a muslim.

Once a man saw in his dream, that a lion was chasing him.

The man ran to a tree, climbed on to it and sat on a branch. He looked down and saw that the lion was still there waiting for him. The man then looked to his side where the branch he was sitting on was attached to the tree and saw that two rats were circling around and eating the branch. One rat was black and the other one was white. The branch would fall on the ground very soon. The man then looked below again with fear and discovered that a big black snake had come and settled directly under him.

The snake opened its mouth right under the man so that he will fall into it. The man then looked up to see if there was anything that he could hold on to. He saw another branch with a honeycomb.

Drops of honey were falling from it. The man wanted to taste the honey. He drank one drop. The honey was very sweet in taste. So, he wanted to taste another drop, then another and then another. As a result, he got lost into the sweetness of the honey. Meanwhile, he forgot about the two rats eating his branch away, the lion on the ground and the snake that is sitting right under him.

After a while, he woke up from his sleep. To get the meaning behind this dream, the man went to a a pious scholar of Islam.

The scholar said "The lion you saw is your death. It always chases you and goes where ever you go.

The two rats, one black and one white, are the night and the day. Black one is the night and the white one is the day. They circle around, coming one after another, to eat your time as they take you closer to death. The big black snake with a dark mouth is your grave.

It's there, just waiting for you to fall into it. The honeycomb is this world and the sweet honey is the luxaries of this world.

We like to taste a drop of the luxaries of this world and it's very sweet. Then we taste another drop and then another.

Meanwhile, we get lost into this world and forget about our time, our death and our graves." May Allah wake us up from the sleep and save us before it's too late. Ameen.

Aisha(peace be upon her) was a chosen Muslim women from Allah to beloved Prophet Mohammed s.a.v.s.
Aisha piety and pious to Allah could not be described with words.After Prophet Mohammed s.a.v.s Aisha was teaching other Muslims with Mohammed s.a.v.s. wprds-
Her love for beloved Prophet could not be descibed with any words,because neaither one women loved her husband the way like Aisha loved our Prophet Mohammed s.a.v.s.

The life of Aisha is a proof that a woman can be far more learned than man and that she can be the teacher of scholars and experts. Her life is also a proof that a woman can exert influence over men and women and provide them with inspiration and leadership. Her life is also a proof that the same woman can be totally feminine and be a source of pleasure, joy and comfort to her husband. She did not graduate from any university; there were no universities as such in her day. But still her utterances are studied in faculties of literature, her legal pronouncements are studied in colleges of law and her life and works are studied and researched by students and teachers of Muslim history as they have been far over a thousand years.

The bulk of her vast treasure of knowledge was obtained while she was still quite young. In her early childhood, she was brought up by her father who was greatly and respected for he was a man of wide knowledge, gentle manners and an agreeable presence. More over he was closest friend of the Noble Prophet (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) who was frequent visitor to their home since the very early days of his mission.

In her youth already known for her formidable memory, she came under the loving care and attention of the Holy prophet (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) himself. as his wife and close companion, she acquired fro him knowledge and insight such as no woman has ever acquired. Aisha became the Prophet’s wife in Makkah when she was most likely in the tenth year of her life but her wedding did not take place until the second year after the Hijrah when she was about 14 or 15 years of her age.

Before and after her wedding, she maintained a natural jollity and innocence and did not seem to have an ego at all by the thought of being wedded to him who was the messenger of Allah (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) whom all his companions, including her own mother and father, treated with such love and reverence as they gave to no one else.

About her wedding, she related that shortly before she was leave her parent’s house, she slipped out into the courtyard to play with passing friends: “I was playing on sea-saw and my long streaming hair was disheveled,” she said. They came and took me from my play and made me ready.” They dressed her in a wedding dress made from fine red-striped cloth from Bahrain and the mother took her to the newly built house where some women of the Ansar were waiting outside the door. They greeted her with the words:” for good and for happiness may all be well”. Then in the presence of the smiling Prophet (S.A.W.W), a bowl of milk was brought. The prophet drank fro it himself and offered did to Aisha. She declined it shyly but when he insisted, she did so and then offered the bowl to her sister Asma who was sitting beside her. Others also drank of it and that was as much as there was of simple and solemn occasions of their wedding. There was no wedding feast.

Marriage to the holy prophet (S.A.W) did not change her playful ways. Her young friends came regularly to visit her in her own apartment. “I would be playing with my dolls,” she said adding,” with the girls who were my friends and the Prophet would come in and they would slip out of the house and he would go out after them and bring them back, for he was pleased for my sake to have them there.” Some time he would say “stay where you are” before they had time to leave, and would also join in their games. Aisha said: “one day, the Prophet came in when I was playing with the doll and he said: ‘O Aisha, whatever game is this?’ ‘It is Solomon horses, ‘I said and he laughed.” Some time as he came in, he would screen himself with his cloak so as not to disturb Aisha and her friends. Aisha’s early life in Medina also had its more serious and anxious times. Once her father and two companions who were staying with him fell ill with a dangerous fever, which was common in Medina during certain seasons. One morning, Aisha went to visit him and was dismayed to find the three men lying completely weak and exhausted. She asked her father how he was and he answered in verse but she did not understand what he was saying. The two other also answered her with lines of poetry, which seemed to her to be nothing but unintelligent babbling. She was deeply troubled and went home to the Holy prophet saying: “They are raving, out of their minds, through the heat of fever.” The holy prophet asked what they have said and was somewhat reassured when she repeated almost word for word the lines they had uttered and which made sense although she did not fully understand then then.

This was the demonstration of the great retentive power of her memory, which as the years went by was to preserve so many of the priceless sayings of the Holy prophet. Of the Holy prophet’s wives in medina, it was clear that it was Aisha that he loved most. From time to time, one or the others of his companions would ask:

“O messenger of Allah whom do you love most in the world?” he did not always give the same answer to this question for he felt great love for many: for his daughers and their children, for Abu bakr, for Ali, for Zayd and his son Usamah. B

ut of his wives the only one he named in this connection was Aisha.

She too loved him greatly in return and often would seek reassurance from him that he loved her. Once she asked him:” how is your love for me?” “Like the rope’s knot,” he replied meaning that it was strong and secure. And time after time thereafter, she would ask him:” how is the knot?” and he would reply:” in the same condition.”

As she loved the holy prophet so was her love and she could not bear the thought that the holy prophet’s attention should be given to others more than seemed enough to her. She asked him: “O Messenger of Allah, tell me of your self. If you were between the two slopes of valley, one of which had not been grazed whereas the other had been grazed, on which would you pasture your flocks?” “On that which had not been grazed,” replied the holy prophet. “Even so,” She said, “and I m not as any other of yours wives. “Every one of them had a husband before you, except me.” The Holy Prophet (Sall Allaho alaihe wasalam) smiled and said nothing. Aisha was really a generous soul and patient one. She bore with the rest of the holy prophet’s household poverty and hunger, which often lasted for long periods. For days on end, no fire would be lit in the sparsely furnished house of the holy prophet for cooking and baking bread and they would live merely on dates and water.

After the Khaybar expedition, the Holy prophet stayed away from his wives for a month. Returning from his seclusion, he went first to Asia’s apartment. She was delighted to see him but he said he had received revelation, which required putting two options before her. He then recited the verses: “O Prophet; Say to your wives: If you desire the life of his world and its adornments, then come and I will bestow its goods upon you, and I will release you with a fair release. But if you desire God and His Messenger and the abode of the hereafter, then verily God has laid in store for you an immense reward for such as you who do good.” Aisha’s reply was; “Indeed I desire God and His Messenger and the abode of the hereafter,” and her response was followed by all the other wives of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). She stuck to her choice both during the life time of the Holy Prophet and afterwards. Later, when the Muslims were favoured with the Enormous riches, she was given a gift of one hundred thousand dirhams. She was fasting when she received the money and she distributed the amount to the poor and needy even immediately, though she had no provision in her house. Shortly after maidservant said to her: “Could you buy meat fro a dirham with which to break your fast?” she said, “If I had remembered, I would have done so.” The Holy Prophet’s affection for Aisha remained to the last. During his final illness, it was to Aisha’s apartment that he went at the suggestion of his wives. For much of the time, he lay there on couch with his head resting on her chest or on her lap. It was she who took a Miwak, chewed upon it to soften it and gave it to the Holy prophet. Despite his weakness, he rubbed his teeth with it vigorously. Not long afterward, he became unconscious and Aisha thought it was the onset of death, but after an hour he opened his eyes.

It was Aisha who has preserved for us these dying moments of the most honored of God’s creation, His beloved Messenger. When he opened his eyes again, Aisha remembered Iris having said to her: “No prophet is taken by death until he has been shown his place in paradise and then offered the choice, to live or die.” “He will not now choose us,” She said to herself. Then she heard him murmur: “with the supreme communication in paradise, with those upon whom Allah has showed His favour, the prophets, the martyrs and the righteous…”Again she heard him murmur: “O Lord, with the supreme communication.” and these were the last words she heard him speak.

Gradually his head grew heavier upon her chest, until others in the room began to lament, and Aisha laid his head on a pillow. In the floor of Aisha’s room, near the couch where he was lying, a grave was dug in which was buried the Seal of the Prophets amid much great sorrow. Aisha lived on almost fifty years after the passing away of the Holy prophet. She passed a decade of her life with him as his wife (and shall remain his wife forever). Much of the decade long time was spent in learning and acquiring knowledge of the two most important sources of God’s guidance, the Holy Quraan and Sunnah of His Prophet. Aisha was one of three wives of the Holy Prophet who memorized the revelation, the other two being Hafsah and Umm Salamah. So far as the ahadith or sayings of the Holy Prophet concerned, Aisha is the one who transmitted more than two thousand sayings or Ahadith. Many of these pertain to some of the most intimate aspects of personal behavior, which only some one in aisha’s position could have learnt. What is most important is that her knowledge of Hadith was passed on in written form by at least three persons including her nephew Urwah who became one of the greatest scholars among the generation after the Companion.

Many of the learned companions of the Holy prophet and their followers benefited from Aisha’s knowledge. Abu Musa al-Ashari once said, “If we, the companions of the Messenger of Allah, had any difficulty on a matter, we asked Aisha about it.” Her nephew Urwah asserts that she was proficient not only in fiqh but also in medicine and poetry. Many of the senior companions of Holy prophet’s came to her to ask for advice concerning questions of inheritance, which required high skilled mathematical mind. Scholars regard her as one of the earliest fuqaha of Islam.

Aisha not only possessed great knowledge, but took an active part in education and social reform. As a teacher she had a clear and persuasive manners of speech and her power of oratory has been described in superlative terms by al-Ahnaf, who said: “I have heard speeches of Abu bakr, Umar, Usman, Ali and the caliphs up to this day, but I have not heard speech more persuasive and more beautiful from the mouth of any person than from the mouth of Aisha.” Her house thus became a school and an academy. Among her women pupils is the name of Umrah bint-e-Abdur Rahman. After Khadijah al – Kubra and Fatimah az-Zahra, Aisha is regarded as the best woman in Islam. She was leader in every field of knowledge. She often regretted her involvement in war but lived long enough to regain position as the most respected woman of her time. She died in the year 58 hijrah in the month of Ramadan and as she instructed, she was buried in Jannat al – Baqi in mAdinah beside other companions of Holy Prophet (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam).

My beautiful garden is like paradise on Earth, so magic and peacefull. It is the place where past, present and future are gather, it is place of my life. All memories are on one place, all memories in my beautiful garden. Can you see the trees that are standing there and celebreting His name. They are celebreting the name of the One who is The Most Mercifull and Kind, they are celebreting the name of One Allah. They are so proud and they are part of my beautifull garde. But have you seen my garden in spring??? Have you seen how is waking up from deep sleap and how is he meeting this world. So full of joy and happiness, so full of hope and wishes. New day for my beautiful garden, new spring and new life. Every year more and more beautiful, every spring something different. People everywhere are asking the questions; "What is the purpose of life?" and "Why are we here?" You might be amazed to learn, that Islam is providing clear and concise answers for these questions.
Most of those who reflect or think about life in any detail will consider and ponder these questions. There are as many different answers to these questions as there are people asking the questions. Some would hold that the purpose of life was to acquire wealth. Yet suppose they were to acquire millions of dollars, what then would they claim is their purpose after doing so?If the purpose of life is to become wealthy, there would be no purpose after becoming wealthy. The fact is that when people approach their purpose here in this life from the aspect of only gaining wealth, after collecting the money they have dreamed of their lives loose purpose and then they live in restless tension suffering from a feeling of worthlessness.How could wealth then be considered as the aim of life?Could the acquisition of wealth guarantee happiness? Of course not.When we hear of millionaires or members of their families committing suicide, how could we consider the purpose of life would be to gain great wealth?A child of 5 years would obviously prefer a new toy to a deposit slip for a million dollars.A teenager does not consider millions of dollars in the bank a substitute for movies, videos, pizza and hanging out with his friends. A person in their 80s or 90s would never consider holding on to their wealth in place of spending it to hold on to or regain their health.This proves that money is not the main purpose at all the stages of one's life.Wealth can do little or nothing to bring happiness to one who is a disbeliever in Almighty God, because regardless of what he or she would gain in this life they would always live in fear of what will happen to them in the end. They would wonder what would become of them and how they would end up.Wealth and its accumulation as a purpose would be doomed to a temporary success at best and in the end it would only spell out self destruction.So, what is the use of wealth to a person without belief? He would always fear his end and would always be skeptical of everything.

He may gain a great material wealth but he would only lose himself in the end.Worship of the One True Almighty God of the Universe [Allah in Arabic] as a primary goal or aim in life provides a believer with everything he needs to succeed in both this life and the Next Life.The word for total surrender, submission, obedience, purity of heart and peace in the Arabic language is "Islam". Those who try to perform these actions are called "MU-slims" [Islam-ERs].

To a Muslim the whole purpose of life is "ibadah" or worship to the One True Almighty God on Terms and under His Conditions.The term "worship" to a Muslim includes any and all acts of obedience to Almighty Allah.So his purpose of life is a standing purpose; Worshipping Allah by accepting Allah's Will over his own.This act of ibadah [worshipping, thanking and extolling the Greatness Almighty Allah on His Terms and Conditions] is for the Muslim, throughout his whole life regardless of the stage. Whether he is a child, adolescent, adult or aged person, he is seeking after the Will of the Almighty in all these stages.His life here on earth although short, is full of purpose and is totally meaningful within the complete framework of total submission [Islam].Similarly, in the Next Life as well, his faith, intentions, attitudes and good deeds will all be weighed into his account as favorable putting him in high esteem with his Creator and Sustainer.Because Islam teaches that this life is only a test or trial for the individual to show him his true nature it is only natural that he would accept death as not so much an ending to everything but more as a beginning of the final and lasting life in the Hereafter.Before entering into either of the final lodging places i.e.; Heaven or Hell, there must needs be a Day of Judgment or showing of one's true self to make them aware of their own nature and thereby understand what they have sent on ahead during the life here on the earth.Every person will be rewarded [or punished] according to their attitude, appreciation and efforts during this stay on earth. None will be asked about the actions and beliefs of others, nor will anyone be asked regarding that which he was unaware of or incapable of doing.As the life here is considered as an examination for the individual, the death stage is considered as a resting period after the test. It could be easy for those who were faithful and dedicated or it could be grueling and horrible for the wicked.

Reward and punishment will be in direct proportion to each person and it is only Allah, alone who will be the Final Judge over us all.So in the teachings of the True Surrender, Submission, Obedience, In Sincerity and Peace to the Almighty One God [Islam], the line of life and its purpose is logical, clear and simple:The first life is a test The life in the grave is a resting or waiting place before the Day of Judgment The Day of Judgment brings about the clear understanding of what will now happen to the individual based on his own desires and actions The Permanent or Afterlife will either be spend in luxurious splendor or miserable punishment .Following this clear understanding of life, the Muslim's purpose is clear.First of all, he has no doubt in his mind that:he is only created by Allah he is going to spend a period of time in this material world [called "Ad Dunyah" in Arabic] he knows he will die he knows he will spend time in the grave, either pleasant or difficult depending on his own choice of attitude and actions he knows he will be resurrected for the Day of Judgment he knows he will be judged according to the most fair of standards by Allah the Almighty, the All Knowing he realizes his attitude and actions are going to come under very close scrutiny he knows that this short life compared to the Eternal Life was in fact, only for a testThis life is very meaningful and purposeful to the Believing Muslim, as he realizes that it will determine is outcome and permanent position in the Next Life.The Muslim's permanent purpose is to Surrender, Submit, Obey, in Purity and Peace to Allah the Almighty, carrying out His Orders and staying in some form of worship to Him as much as possible everyday.

This includes the orders of Allah in His Book, the Holy Quran and His final Messenger and Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him as follows:Believing and declaring that "There is no god throughout all the Creation of Allah that is worthy of worship, all worship is due only to Allah, alone and He has no partners or helpers nor does He share His Lordship with any of His creations. And Muhammad, the son of Abdullah ibn Abdul Mutallib (1450 years ago) is the last and final messenger and servant of Almighty Allah, and is the culmination in a long line of prophets sent to mankind throughout man's history, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus Christ, may Almighty Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon them all." Establishing the regular five times ritualistic prayer [salat] in the stated times (in the mosques for the men when possible) Paying the charity tax [Zakat = about 2.5% of one's holdings - not his income, annually] Fasting the month of Ramadhan [lunar calendar] Pilgrimage to the House of Allah in Mecca at least once in the life of the person, provided he has the ability and the way is safeFor a disbeliever the purpose of this life is to collect and amass great wealth, money, power and position. Over indulging in eating, drinking, drugs, sex and gambling are a high priority to them. But all of this will not avail them anything good in the grave, on the Day of Judgment or in the Next Life. Eventually he will be faced with the question: Now what? What's Next? Where am I going? What will happen to me?He will come to know. For sure he will come to know. But then what will the knowledge avail him?Look how Islam solves the mystery of the puzzle of life. It provides the answers to the questions and concerns of the human beings on all levels and in every aspect. It is really quite simple.

The purpose of life as understood by the Believing Muslim can be simply stated in only two (2) words:Obey God.Our only purpose and salvation lie in these two words. We must come to know our Creator, Sustainer and Ultimate Judge. We must learn to believe in Him, thank Him, praise Him, honor Him and worship Him, alone without any partners from His Creation. We must learn about His Messengers and Prophets, peace be upon them, and the message with which they were all sent. We must learn the Word of God as was directly revealed, preserved and memorized and passed down by memory throughout all the generations of Muslims to the present day.Those who are in search of truth, having open minds and hearts will recognize this as a message in truth and sincerity. Open your heart and your mind now and ask the Almighty God of the Universe [Allah] to guide you now to His True Way. And then be ready to accept your true purpose in life.

Hijab,the piety and beauty of every women

In the name of Allah,The most Loving,The Mercifull.All thankfull to Almighty Allah from all my heart and soul for showing me His blessings and mercy to wear hijab.May Allah help me and all my sisters in Islam who are wearing hijab that we wear our hijabs on the right way.Amin.Dear brothers and sisters this is my first designe here,I hope you will like it.

Allah (swt) says {O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters, and the believing woman, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons}. [59:33]. Then it becomes natural for you to put on your Hijab although you may face some problems and vexations. But, you have to put your trust in Allah. He will make it easy for you. {Whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him}.[65:4] In the same vein, the beloved Prophet (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whosoever makes people contented at the expense of Allah’s pleasure, He will leave him to people’s (help); and whosoever makes people discontented for the sake of Allah and His desire, He will suffice him”. At the end, we do ask Allah to grant you the best reward, suffice you and strengthen your heart. It is He alone who answers positively to supplications.Hijab (a garment that covers the woman’s whole body) is an obligation for the Muslim woman. Allah says (meanings in English) {and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc} [24:31] It is prohibited for a woman, who believes in Allah and the Last Day, to uncover a little part of her body to alien men (those to whom marriage is permissible). Hijab should meet the fololowing conditions:1.It should cover womens wholoe body.2.It should be thick enough.3.It should not be transparent4.It should be loose.5.It should not be decorated as to atract lookers.6.It should not be similar the dress of men or dress of unbelieving women.By the way,covering the whole body is not only better,but also shows the best commitment to Islam.Praise be to Allah.The hadeeth mentioned in the question was narrated by Abu Dawood (4104) from al-Waleed from Sa’eed ibn Basheer from Qataadah from Khaalid ibn Durayk from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing a thin dress. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned away from her and said, “O Asma’, when a woman reaches the age of puberty, nothing should be seen of her except this and this” – and he pointed to his face and hands.
